Joshua McCully Wins One and Final Tables Another in High Rollers Week at GGPoker

Joshua McCully was the one of the biggest stars of the day as not only did he win Event #5: $525 Bounty Hunters HR Special for $38,210 but he also took fourth place in Event #7: $2,100 Bounty for $20,794 to bring his total haul in these two events to $59,004.

Brazil's Pedro Garagnani scored even more than McCully after shipping Event #7 for $63,277.

Joshua McCully Wins High Rollers Week Event #5: $525 Bounty Hunters HR Special ($38,210)

Australia's Joshua McCully claimed the first High Rollers Week title at GGPoker on Monday after shipping Event #5: $525 Bounty Hunters HR Special for $38,210 including $24,221 in bounties.

McCully faced off against Spain's Mario "St@edtLer" Navarro for the title with each player locking up nearly $14,000 in prize money and a big bounty to be played for at the end. Despite missing out on the victory, Navarro hauled in $20,329 with the help of $6,367 in bounties for his runner-up performance.

Other recognizable names at the final table included Roman "Gogac1" Hrabec (fourth - $13,670) and Marcelo "Pettigcards" Pettinati (eighth - $4,714) with China's "haiweidashen" outperforming both players with a third-place finish for $16,340 including $5,377 in bounties.

The event itself was a huge success with 548 runners generating a $274,000 prize pool to obliterate the event's $200,000 guarantee.

Pedro Garagnani Wins Event #7: $2,100 Bounty ($63,277)

Brazil's Pedro Garagnani defeated Canada's Michal "houzhumi888" Wywrot in heads-up play in the High Rollers Week Event #7: $2,100 Bounty for $63,277 including $35,525 in bounties.

Garagnani is now banging down the door for $2 million in online tournament earnings at GGPoker alone with the win pushing him past $1.9 million in earnings.

Wywrot collected $23,619 from the prize pool for nearly the same as Garagnani but the big heads-up bounty at the end made all the difference with Wywrot hauling in $11,906 in bounties to bring his total runner-up prize to $35,525.

Estonia's Urmo Velvelt joined Garagnani and Wywrot on the podium after taking bronze for $30,567 including $11,750 in bounties.

Meanwhile, Joshua McCully, who won Event #5 as well on Monday, was close to two titles in one day before he bowed out in fourth place for $20,794 including $5,813 in bounties.

These weren't the only big names at the final table as Matas "NoWeyyy" Cikinas, who is currently in third place with just a dozen players remaining in Event #6 took ninth place for $10,135 including $5,344 in bounties with Rodrigo Sirichuk (sixth - $17,183), Alex "FutureofMe" Kulev (seventh - $11,872), and Marius Gierse (eighth - $7,019) finishing just ahead of the Lithuanian.

The event itself sported a $250,000 guarantee. But this proved to be merely a placeholder with 165 entries generating a $330,000 prize pool.

Juan Pardo Leads Final 12 in High Rollers Week Event #6: $1,050 Monday Main Event

Spain's Juan Pardo holds a commanding chip lead over the final 12 players in the High Rollers Week Event #6: $1,050 Monday Main Event after 28 levels of play on Day 1.

Pardo has found massive success in the past at GGPoker with more than $6.6 million in earnings at the online poker room and is in prime position to add to this in a big way with Event #6 sporting a top prize of $45,652.

It was an incredible day for both "Babyccino" (2,701,775) and Roman "Gogac1" Hrabec (2,152,207) as not only did both players advance to the final day with big stacks but they both also appeared at the final table in Event #4 won by Joshua McCully.

Lithuania's Matas "NoWeyyy" Cikinas will head into the final table in between these two players with a third-place stack of 2,550,003.

Russia's Evgeny "AntreVolt" Galakhov advanced with a healthy stack of 1,960,366 in chips, while Daan "DaanOss" Mulders will come into the final day as the short stack with 501,702.

It is still anyone's game in no small part to GGPoker's final table rules which will push back blinds at the final table to allow for an average stack of at least 40 big blinds. The final table will also feature blinds increasing after a certain number of hands instead of by time like the rest of the event.

The final dozen players are each guaranteed a payout of $2,387 with all nine eventual final tablists banking a minimum of $4,565. The prizes will go up in a big way from there with Tuesday's winner slated to receive a huge top prize of $45,652.
