2022 Lucky Hearts Poker Open Winners Thus Far

The 2022 Lucky Hearts Poker Open is off to a roaring start, especially for the talented Farid Jattin, who shipped Event #1: $600 Deep Stack No-Limit Hold'em for $306,832 via a heads-up chop with Dustin Nelson ($297,703).

Florida has been a hotbed for tournament poker since the pandemic, nowhere more so than the Seminole Hard rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood. The venue has hosted record-setting events over the past year and is currently in the midst of one of its most popular annual series.

Huge Field, Worthy Champion

The Lucky Hearts Poker Open kicked off January 13 with a $1 million guaranteed Deep Stack event that included January 17. A total of 4,960 entrants took a shot at some life-changing money, and the guarantee, as per usual at Seminole Hard Rock, was completely obliterated. When all was said and done following six Day 1 starting flights, there was $2,579,200 in the pot.

In the end, in a field mixed with pros and recreational players, a skilled tournament grinder came out on top. Jattin and Dustin Nelson agreed to a heads-up chop, with Jattin receiving the trophy and the biggest cut due to holding the chip lead at the time.

Jattin has somewhat quietly been one of the top tournament grinders in the game. He now has over $6 million in live tournament cashes. The Colombia native won a 25K Challenge at the 2020 Aussie Millions for $678,831 just before the pandemic forced tournament cancellations all around the world due to the coronavirus.

World Poker Tour Event on the Horizon

The 2022 Lucky Hearts Poker Open is just getting started and won't conclude for another week. Jattin isn't the only familiar face to win a title during the current series. Scott Baumstein and Yuval Bronshtein are among the 12 players who have received a trophy thus far.

The highlight of the series is the $3,500 buy-in World Poker Tour Lucky Hearts Poker Open, a $2 million guaranteed Main Tour event beginning January 21. Brian Altman, the 2019-2021 season Player of the Year, has won this event twice, including most recently in 2020.
