PokerStars US Half Price Sunday Results: Three Events Crack 1,000 Entries

The PokerStars US Sunday Major tournaments are always popular each weekend. On Oct. 8, the online poker giant chopped the price of those events in half, which created a massive turnout for Half Price Sunday.
There were five events on the schedule in Pennsylvania, and five more on the Michigan and New Jersey shared platform. The tournaments ranged in price from $5 all the way up to $250, a little something for everyone. Many players competed in multiple events, some playing all five in each state.

Action began on Sunday with the $15 Sunday Warm-Up, a tournament to get all the players warmed up for the bigger events. In PA, the tournament drew 298 entrants with "chonkdaddy" taking it down for $773. On the shared liquidity site, "wldcrd2121" beat out 452 entries to win $1,108.
The biggest event was the $250 Sunday High Roller ($125 buy-in in Pennsylvania), which drew 186 players in MI/NJ and 266 in PA. "Fook3" won it for $5,061 in PA, while "TakingSOuls" shipped in on the other platform for $7,498.
But the largest payout went to "moose4life" — $10,989 — the champion of the $50 Sunday Special, which attracted 1,585 entries. It was one of three events on PokerStars US' Half Price Sunday had more than 1,000 players in action.
