Reaction to the Win

Moneymaker took to X, formerly known as Twitter, posting an image of him holding the trophy along with the caption "We defended."

"People expect me to play in the tournament"

Some took issue with the fact that Moneymaker even played in a tournament bearing his name, but Moneymaker said that part of the draw to the event is by him being there.

"People expect me to play in the tournament," he posted. "Me and my staff have zero control over the tournament. They are run by the host properties."

This is Moneymaker's third Moneymaker Tour title, after he won the $300 Mixed Pot Limit Omaha side event in April for $5,195 and the Moneymaker Poker Tour Palm Beach Main Event in May for $83,042.

It's also his fifth tournament victory in the space of 14 months when you factor in his Triton victory in Montenegro and a win on the Enjoy Poker Tour in Uruguay.

He also finished 10th in the WSOP Paradise Main Event for $500,000, however, failed to advance from Day 1a of the 2025 World Series of Poker Main Event after running house into house in Level 2.
