Beignets, gumbo, and tournament poker. That's what will be on the menu in New Orleans from Sept. 25 to Oct. 5 when the RunGood Poker Series (RGPS) Grand Prix comes to town.

Caesars New Orleans (formerly Harrah's) is where all the action will take place. Seventeen ring events are planned, including the $200,000 guaranteed Main Event from Oct. 3, a no-limit hold'em tournament that will be live reported right by PokerNews.

Series Highlights

The upcoming tournament series in Louisiana's tourist hotspot is one of the juiciest on the RGPS schedule. It all kicks off with the first of two six-figure guaranteed events. We're talking about the $400 Series Kickoff Ring Event, a no-limit hold'em tournament that will have at least $100,000 in the pot.

Sept. 25 at 6 p.m. is the start of the tournament with the Day 1a flight. Players can also register for any of the following four Day 1 sessions — two per day on Sept. 26 and Sept. 27. Day 2, the finale, will take place at noon on Sept. 28.

The Caesars New Orleans series features some traditional RGPS tournaments, such as the $250 Double Green Chip Bounty (Oct. 1) and $400 Black Chip Bounty (Sept. 28 and Oct. 5). A $250 Seniors No-Limit Hold'em event is scheduled for Sept. 29 at 10 a.m. for those aged 50 and above. The $300 Ladies Ring Event takes place Oct. 3 at 2 p.m., and RGPS will even host Tag Team and Pot-Limit Omaha tournaments (see full schedule below).

The biggest tournament on the schedule is the $800 RGPS Main Event, a $200,000 guaranteed no-limit hold'em competition that begins Oct. 3 with Day 1a. Days 1b and 1c will run the following day. All players who bag chips in any of the three starting sessions will return to Caesars to play it down to a winner on Oct. 5.

The final day features two other ring events, the first one being the aforementioned Black Chip Bounty, and the second one the $200 Series Sendoff Turbo No-Limit Hold'em.

PokerNews will be on-site, live reporting the Main Event from the first hand until a champion is crowned. RunGood Poker Series players can receive a hotel discount at Caesars New Orleans by using code "SO9RGP5" when booking online.
