PokerStars EPT Season

The EPT Season Online burst into life at PokerStars during the weekend, and the series has already produced some big winners. Brazil's "161445" was one of those who reeled in a substantial score, turning a $109 investment into $60,751 and a Sunday Million title.

For the opening EPT season weekend, the Sunday Million was played to a mystery bounty format. On Sunday's Day 1, a field of 9,759 entrants was reduced to a more manageable 90, during which time some huge bounties found their way to players.

Brazil's "mbalchak" and Austrian "13MagicMan13" both opened envelopes containing $50,000 bounties, but the biggest winner of the tournament, despite them falling in 629th place, was "Thiryyyy", courtesy of collecting the jackpot $100,000 mystery bounty! They took home $101,437 in total.

The final table had a South American flavor, with three players hailing from Brazil and two from Argentina; they were joined by four Europeans. By the time "caiosultanum," "all-isteach," and "CHAKNORRIS777" had busted, the surviving players were all guaranteed five-figure returns on their investment.

Brazilian "jagger97" collected the first of such sums, walking away with $11,811 for their sixth-place exit. "metodAF" and "2424emiliano" were the next to find themselves void of chips. Their deep runs resulted in their PokerStars accounts swelling by $15,805 and $21,960, respectively.

"Wazmis" of Lithuania was Europe's last representative. They crashed out in third for $32,091, which sent the Sunday Million into the heads-up stage. Here, Brazil's "161455" and Argentina's "K04a777" faced off for the title and their final two mystery bounty payments.

The one-on-one battle went the way of the Brazilian, with "161445" scooping an impressive $60,751 for their victory. The $43,741 that the runner-up helped themselves to still represented an excellent couple of days at the virtual felt.

Germany's "aNdIiSbAcK" Calms the Sunday Storm

The EPT Season edition of the $11 Sunday Storm PKO attracted 10,788 entrants, who created a $105,722 prize pool. Once the tournament ended and the dust had settled, Germany's "aNdIiSbAcK" had won all of the chips in play. They exchanged those for an $8,900 prize, which included almost $2,900 from the progressive bounty prize pool.

Only 89 of the 10,788 starters navigated to Day 2, which concluded on October 13. All but two of the nine finalists walked away with more than $1,300, or the equivalent of 130 buy-ins for this event! It is easy to see why the Sunday Storm remains as popular as ever.

As the clock ticked past 10:38 p.m. BST on October 13, "aNdIiSbAcK" struck the final blow to Sweden's "JeansBjorn" in a heads-up clash. The Swede bowed out in second place, a finish good for $6,760. However, "aNdIiSbAcK" was the man of the hour, walking away with the title of champion and a cool $8,900 for their efforts.

Fifteen EPT Season tournaments have crowned their worthy winners, including the $55 H.O.R.S.E. event. High-volume Albanian grinder "king153246" helped himself to that victory, continuing their impressive run of form that saw them cash dozens of times during the recent PokerStars World Championship Of Online Poker (WCOOP).
