MSPT Golden State Poker Championship

Season 17 of the Major Series of Poker: The Tour (MSPT) continues this weekend with the start of the Golden State Poker Championship, which will run from Jan. 8-19 at Sycuan Casino Resort in San Diego, California.

The festival features 19 Gold Card events, including the $400 buy-in, $100K GTD Mini Main Event this weekend, and the $1,110 buy-in, $300K GTD MSPT Golden State Poker Championship Main Event the following weekend.

The latter tournament will offer a trio of starting flights beginning with Day 1A at 2 p.m. PT on Thursday, January 15. Players will start with 30,000 in chips and play 40-minute levels. Days 1B and 1C will take place at the same time on Friday, January 16, and Saturday, January 1,7 respectively, and then the surviving players from all three flights will reconvene at 11 a.m. on Sunday, January 18 to play down to a winner.

Other tournaments on the schedule include a $400 Tag Team, $250 Progressive Bounty, $250 Seniors (50+), $300 PLO, and a $300 Mystery Bounty. Here’s a look at the full schedule:

After San Diego, Season 17 of the MSPT will head over to Bally’s Black Hawk Casino in Colorado for the Showdown Series from Jan. 14-25, followed by the first major of the season – the $1,000,000 GTD Diamond Poker Championship at Arizona’s Talking Stick Resort from Jan. 24-Feb. 1.

Right after, the MSPT will return to the Venetian Las Vegas Feb. 4-7 for the $1,600 buy-in, $1,000,000 GTD Poker Bowl X.
