The Major Series of Poker: The Tour (MSPT) is currently in Colorado for the third stop of Season 17. Back on January 14, the Showdown Series got underway at Bally’s Black Hawk and will run through this weekend.

There will be a slew of side events throughout the week, culminating with the $1,110 buy-in, $300K GTD MSPT Main Event, which will feature three starting flights. Day 1A will get underway at Noon local time on Thursday, January 22, and start players with 30,000 in chips while playing 40-minute levels.

Days 1B and 1C will take place at the same time on Friday, January 2,3 and Saturday, January 2,4 respectively, and then the surviving players from all three flights will return for Day 2 at 11 a.m. on Sunday, January 25, to play down to a winner.

The stop kicked off with Event #1: $400 Mini Main Event, which featured a $100K guarantee. That tournament drew 853 entries and saw local crusher Danny Gonzales come out on top to the tune of $54,578 and his first MSPT Gold Card.

Other early side event winners include Zach Gutierrez, topping a 127-entry field to win Event #6: $300 Ultimate Stack NLH for $7,500, Josh Edgell winning Event #7: $200 Nightly NLH for $3,008, and Leo Bernal taking down Event #4: $200 Nightly for $4,512.

What's Else is Coming Up?

That current stop will be followed by the first major of the season – the $1,000,000 GTD Diamond Poker Championship at Arizona’s Talking Stick Resort from Jan. 24-Feb. 1.

Right after, the MSPT will return to the Venetian Las Vegas Feb. 4-7 for the $1,600 buy-in, $1,000,000 GTD Poker Bowl X.

Then, from Feb. 10-16, the $750K GTD MSPT Ohio Poker State Championship will take place at JACK Cleveland, followed by the $1,000,000 GTD Club Poker Championship Major at Potawatomi Casino in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
