BetRivers Poker Launches Unique 'Splash the Pot' Cash Game Feature
BetRivers Poker is adding a new feature to its platform that will have poker players in the U.S. excited, especially those who love to gamble.
The brand-new "Splash the Pot" feature on the legal, U.S.-facing poker site promoted by Phil Galfond and Phil Hellmuth randomly adds bonus money to pots before the flop. This will provide added value, making the juicy games on the platform even juicier.
How Does 'Splash the Pot' Work?
Splash the Pot is only available for cash games and does not apply to multi-table tournaments or Sit & Go games. Jason Senti, Head of Poker at BetRivers Poker, has been preparing for this launch for quite some time.
"Splash the Pot is something we've believed in for a long time," Senti said. "Players loved it on Run it Once, and we wanted it to be a foundational part of BetRivers Poker from Day One. It adds a dynamic element to cash games, creates real moments of excitement, and rewards players at the table in a way that supports the long-term health of the overall ecosystem."
Galfond originally launched Run it Once before selling it to Rush Street Interactive, Inc., the online gaming giant that operates BetRivers Poker. Splash the Pot is now available to BetRivers players. But how exactly does it work?
Money is added prior to the flop to random cash game hands. When a "splash" occurs, money is added to the pot before any betting action begins. This could entice players to expand their preflop range, so as to chase that added value in the pot.
Players don't have to opt in to the feature, as Splash the Pot is automatically available in all cash games.
There is a separate component to Splash the Pot that will also excite many players, and that is the BIG SPLASH, a rare table-wide event that transforms the hand into a shared celebration. All cards are revealed, and there won't be any betting during these hands, and the board runs out automatically without any preflop action. The player who wins the hand receives the largest share of the pot, while the remaining players in the hand collect an evenly distributed share.
BetRivers Poker is available in Ontario (Canada), Delaware, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. Oh, and did we mention that we recently debuted the BetRivers Table Talk Podcast Presented By PokerNews, and that Phil Galfond was the first guest? Check it out.
