The United Kingdom's "blufinbaldy" triumphed in the latest edition of the 888poker $100,000 Mystery Bounty Main Event. "blufinbaldy" left a trail of 956 foes in their wake as they turned a $109 investment into $9,799 and the title of champion.
The biggest mystery bounties were claimed on Day 1, February 22. "POPPYS12" and "Fl4tbush20" banked a $3,000 bounty each, while Brazilian "jhonnesilva" opened a golden envelope containing the $10,000 jackpot mystery bounty. Combined with other bounties and their prize money for finishing 14th, "jhonnesilva" took home $12,564, the most of anyone in the tournament.
Day 1 ended in spectacular style, with a double elimination bringing the curtain down on proceedings and leaving only seven and not eight players at the final table. "wursthandz" had more chips at the time of the double bust-out, so was the official eighth-place finisher.

| 6 | FutureofNiz | Brazil | $1,072 | 1,322,885 | 22 |
| 7 | jackkson | $200 | 1,068,302 | 18 |
The final table began with seven players vying for the title. British superstar Tom "sheeeeeeeet" Hall was the chip leader with 53 big blinds, but nobody was particularly short, with "jackkson" bringing up the rear with 18 big blinds at their disposal.
Brazil's "FutureofNiz" looked set to be the first casualty of the final table, but Lady Luck rescued them. Hall opened from the cutoff with pocket jacks and quickly called when "FutureofNiz" three-bet-jammed with pocket nines for 23 big blinds. Hall's jacks remained best on the flop, but a nine on the turn catapulted "FutureofNiz" into the lead, where they stayed to double up.
Despite sitting down second in chips, "C3H5NO33," the chemical formula for nitroglycerine, was the first player relieved of their entire stack. Around the 45-minute mark, "C3H5NO33" three-bet Hall opening raise with ace-five of hearts, only for "ukabukas8149" to cold-four-bet from the big blind with ace-king of diamonds. Hall ducked out of the way, "C3H5NO33" five-bet shoved for 44 big blinds in total, and "ukabakus8149" called. The king-kicker of "ukabukas8149" played, and "C3H5NO33" was left with just over 12.5 big blinds.
A couple of hands later, "C3H5NO33"min-raised with pocket sevens, "ukabukas8149" three-bet from the button with pocket kings before calling "C3H5NO33"'s jam. An ace-high board sent "C3H5NO33" to the rail.
It may have taken 45-50 minutes for the first elimination, but the rest of the finalists fll by the wayside in less than another hour.
"FutureofNiz" was the next player to get showered. Down to 2.8 big blinds, "FutureofNiz" committed their micro stack with king-jack but ran straight into the pocket queens of "blufinbaldy." The queens held, and "FutureofNiz" was gone.
The final five became four when another Brazilian," mr.salgado" joined their fellow countryman, "FutureofNiz," on the sidelines. "ukabukas8149" min-raised with pocket jacks from under the gun before snap-calling the 14.2 big blind shove from "mr.salgado." Those jacks were way ahead of the at-risk player's pocket sixes, and that remained true across all five community cards.
The dangerous Hall was sent packing in fourth just before the first scheduled break. Hall opened-shoved for 16.7 big blinds on the button with ace-nine. Ordinarily, that move would have won the blinds and antes, not least because the big blind was down to a mere 6.3 big blinds. However, the shove didn't work because "blufinbaldy" had a pair of queens in the hole, and they quickly called. A queen on the turn left Hall drawing dead.
At the start of three-handed play, "jackkson" was the shortest stack with only 5.3 big blinds, and "ukabukas8149" led the way with 67.8 big blinds, yet it was the latter who became the third-place finisher. They lost most of their stack after missing a low open-ended straight draw but shoving on the river when it completed a myriad of draws. Unfortunately, "blufinbaldy" had one of those draws, their queen-jack improving to a king-high straight, and they made one of the easier calls of their career.
"blufinbaldy" ferociously wielded their big stack and bullied their final couple of opponents. Yet another button shove from "blufinbaldy," this time with queen-seven of hearts, looked to have gotten through, but "ukabukas8149" decided to call with jack-eight of clubs. Two clubs landed on the flop, but "blufinbaldy" improved to a pair of queens on the river to send the $100,000 Mystery Bounty Main Event into heads-up.
"jackkson" only had an 11.1 big blind stack compared to the 91.5 big blinds of "blufinbaldy," and it proved too much of a gap to bridge. The final hand saw "blufinbaldy" min-raise with king-jack and call the 9.7 big blind jam from "jackkson," which they made with the dominated jack-nine of spades. A double-paired board failed to come to "jackkson"'s rescue, and they fell in second place for $6,250, leaving "Blufinbaldy" to bank a $9,799 top prize and the title of champion.
