PokerStars European Poker Tour Gearing Up for an Annual Trip to Monte-Carlo

The PokerStars European Poker Tour (EPT) is set to head to one of its most popular destinations for major poker action at the end of the month.

EPT Monte-Carlo, which takes place at Sporting Monte-Carlo, kicks off April 30 and runs through May 10 on the French Riviera. The festival, an annual tradition in Monaco, will bring out some of the top pros and recreational players from Europe and all across the globe.

EPT Monte-Carlo Series Highlights

Action in the PokerStars-branded series will begin on April 30 with the €1,650 PokerStars Open Main Event, a no-limit hold'em tournament with four Day 1 starting flights. Day 2 will take place on May 2. Single re-entry is permitted once per flight.

A €10,200 Mystery Bounty will also take place on Opening Day, with €5,000 of the buy-in going to the mystery bounty pool. May 1 is the start of the €100,000 High Roller for One Drop, an event supporting the One Drop clean water initiative charity.

There's a little something for everyone on the schedule, with tournaments affordable for just about every bankroll, and plenty of no-limit hold'em and pot-limit Omaha events, but also some Omaha hi-lo and T.O.R.S.E. mixed in there as well.

The €5,300 EPT Monte-Carlo Main Event begins on May 4. There are two opening flights in this single re-entry tournament. Day 2 takes place on May 6, and the Main Event will play down to the final table on May 9, with a champion crowned the following day.

Aleksandr Shevliakov is defending Main Event champion. The Russian took it down last May for €1,000,000, beating out 1,195 entries.
