Brock Wilson Banks €233,556 at the PokerStars EPT Barcelona Festival

American poker pro Brock Wilson saw his live tournament earnings edge closer to $15 million with victory at the 2026 PokerStars European Poker Tour (EPT) Barcelona festival. Wilson won the €20,000 No-Limit Hold'em Unlimited Re-Entry event for €233,556, continuing his impressive recent run.

Wilson finished 16th in the 2026 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event for $410,475. A month later, he finished second in a $25,500 No-Limit Hold'em High Roller at the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open for another $268,450. This victory in Spain comes a week after that runner-up finish.

Thirty-two entrants, including re-entries, resulted in a €627,200 prize pool that the top five finishers shared.

Jamie Dwan was the first to cash; his fifth-place finish came with €58,400. Seasoned veteran Jean-Noel Thorel finished fourth (€72,200) before Brazilian Gabriel Tavares (€99,900) bowed out in third.

Heads-up pitted Wilson against Estonian chess grandmaster Ottomar Ladva. Wilson put Ladva in checkmate, banked €233,556, and left Ladva to collect a €150,600 consolation prize.

The €550 No-Limit Hold'em In-the-Money at 180,000 proved popular, with 572 entries creating a €286,000 prize pool. Anyone who reached 180,000 chips on Day 1 advanced to Day 2 with a min-cash locked in.

Eighty-five players returned for Day 2, including PokerStars ambassador Maria Konnikova. Konnikova navigated her way to heads-up, where she faced off against France's Sacha Cohen.

Konnikova fell at the final hurdle and received €32,500, her largest score since winning the $5,300 NAPT Las Vegas High Roller Second Chance for $66,350 in November 2025. Cohen collected €52,000, a second-best prize for the Parisian.

€550 NLH In-the-Money at 180,000 Final Table Results

Swiss veteran Yves Thalman reeled in a career-best €43,530 after he outlasted 45 opponents in the €3,250 No-Limit Hold'em Seniors High Roller event. Thalman, who finished fifth in the €1,100 Seniors at last year's EPT Barcelona stop, denied Antoine Vranken a seniors double by eliminating him in second place.

Vranken took down the €1,100 Seniors on August 16 for €55,650, scooping another €28,770 in the process.

A compact field of 37 competed in the €3,150 No-Limit Hold'em Hyper Turbo Freezeout, and Denmark's Mads Larsen left them all in his wake. The victory, worth €40,870, was Larsen's fourth cash in Barcelona and the second largest of his live poker career.

Larsen defeated Apostolos Kofidis heads-up, resigning Kofidis to a €26,400 consolation prize, which more than doubled the Greek grinder's previous best haul.

Elias Suhonen, who won the €10,200 No-Limit Hold'em Unlimited Re-Entry event for €114,200 a couple of days ago, finished third for €17,500.
