2027 PokerStars Open Campione

What better way to welcome in the new year than by becoming a poker champion and padding your bankroll with a six-figure score? You can do precisely this because PokerStars is taking its popular PokerStars Open to Campione in January 2027.

PokerStars Open Campione runs from January 8-17, 2027, at the iconic Casino di Campione. These dates mark the third time that tournament specialists from far and wide have traveled to the shores of Lake Lugano; each of the previous two stops has produced huge fields.

The inaugural PokerStars Open Main Event ran in 2025. It saw a record-breaking field of 2,423 entries, who created a €2,326,080 prize pool. Adrian-Sorel State of Romania was the last player standing. He turned his €1,100 buy-in into a career-best €363,000.

Earlier this year, 1,582 entries of €1,100 were processed, resulting in a €1,518,720 prize pool. Switzerland's Elvir Nuhiu emerged victoriously with a €200,640 to show for his efforts.

New €1,250 Buy-in for the PokerStars Open Campione Main Event

Although the 2027 PokerStars Open Campione schedule is still being finalized, PokerNews can tell you that the Main Event has a new price point of €1,250, an increase from €1,100 of previous editions.

Cedric Billot, Associate Director of Live Events Operations at PokerStars, is looking forward to welcoming players back to Italy.

"We're excited to bring the PokerStars Open back to Campione and start 2027 with this hugely popular festival. The success of the previous PokerStars Open Campione events, combined with the fantastic response to the recent Sunday Million Live gives us and our players plenty to look forward to."

The PokerStars Sunday Million Live returned earlier this month for the first time since 2017. It proved a roaring success, with 5,213 entries across online and live at the Casino di Campione starting flights. Those entrants created a €1,119,853 prize pool, almost 12% more than the advertised €1 million guarantee.

Italian Ettore Santoprete, who had live tournament earnings of $10,063 before this tournament, took down the Sunday Million Live for an impressive €98,200 after a three-handed deal.

Next Up: PokerStars Open Aix-en-Provence

We need to get the last couple of months of 2026 out of the way before looking forward to heading to Campione. A PokerStars Open festival is coming up, with PokerStars Open Aix-en-Provence in the South of France running from November 1-8.

Satellites for the PokerStars Open Aix-en-Provence are still available online at PokerStars, with a whole host of live satellites running throughout the live festival at the Pasino Grand. Check out the full schedule below.
