2026 PokerStars Open Malaga

The Costa del Sol is a popular destination with holidaymakers, but it will be packed with poker players between June 22-28 because the 2026 PokerStars Open Malaga festival is in town. Following the record-breaking 2025 edition, which saw €1,570,560 awarded in the Main Event alone, the Gran Madrid Casino Torrequebrada is gearing up for a week of bustling poker action.

PokerStars Open Malaga bursts into life on the afternoon of June 22 with the $200 No-Limit Hold'em Knockout before a $200 No-Limit Hold'em Deepstack event runs in the evening.

Players heading to the PokerStars Open Malaga festival don't have long to wait before the first of the higher buy-in tournaments shuffle up and deal. At 6:00 p.m. local time on June 23, Day 1 of the €2,200 No-Limit Hold'em High Roller begins.

Last year, this event attracted a 288-strong crowd, who built a €552,960 prize pool. Jorge Rojo helped himself to €112,960 of that princely sum after defeating Grzegorz Kozieja heads-up for the title of champion.

Those itching for a higher buy-in tournament should check out the €5,000 No-Limit Hold'em Super High Roller, which commences at June 27. Ricardo Capela is the reigning champion, having left 61 opponents in his wake as he banked the €86,258 top prize.

Of course, the €1,100 PokerStars Open Malaga Main Event is the crown jewel of the schedule, not least because it guarantees €1 million will be won. It features four Day 1s between June 24-25 before wrapping up on June 28. If last year's Main Event is anything to go by, this tournament will be massive.

A monster-sized field of 1,636 entries blew the €1 million guarantee out of the water, creating a prize pool of €1,570,560. Six countries were represented at the nine-handed final table, but it was an Italian one-two when all was said and done.

Manuel Ferrari and fellow countryman Ermanno Di Nicola struck a deal when heads-up before Ferrari got the job done and rode off with a €206,300 top prize, the winner's trophy, and the all-important title of PokerStars Open Malaga champion.
