Malta Poker Festival

The Malta Poker Festival is one of the most popular European live poker tournament stops on the calendar, one combining sun, sea, fun, and sizeable prize pools. The 2025 edition of the Malta Poker Festival starts on October 25, concludes on November 2, and features a €550 buy-in Main Event with a €500,000 guaranteed prize pool.

Grosvenor Poker has been running satellites for the Malta Poker Festival Main Event that award packages worth €2,300. Only three of these package-awarding satellites remain, meaning time is rapidly running out if you want to get your hands on the following:

  • €550 Main Event Buy-in
  • Five nights' accommodation for two, including breakfast, at the Five-Star Hilton Malta
  • Casino buffet for one person during the Main Event
  • All-In Friday entrant to Club Level 22 nightclub for two
  • Open bar at Portomaso Casino for one player for the five days of the accommodation
  • €325 in spending money credit to your Grosvenor Poker account

A €125 buy-in satellite is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. BST on October 5 and another on October 12. The first guarantees 4x €2,300 packages, with the second awarding at least 5x €2,300 packages to its lucky winners.

Step satellites for these €125 buy-in satellites start from only €0.25, which opens the doors to almost every Grosvenor Poker player to take a shot at some poker in the sun. The €0.25 steps feed into €3 buy-in tournaments, which in turn progress to the €15 buy-in level. Make it through the €15 buy-in step satellites and you'll find yourself in the €125 weekly final where the Malta Poker Festival packages are awarded.

You can buy into whichever step your bankroll allows, from the €0.25 level to the €15 buy-in stage.

In addition to this pair of weekly satellites, Grosvenor Poker is running €2 Micro Flighted package satellites. These €2 buy-in satellites feature several flights (Day 1s) during the week, with players hoping to navigate to the final stage. The next such final starts at 8:00 p.m. BST on October 13; it guarantees one Malta Poker Festival package for every €2,300 collected.

These cost €50 to enter and guarantee at least 1x €550 seat will be won, although the October 13 edition has at least five seats waiting to be won.

€0.50 buy-in satellites feed into €5 games, which feed into the €50 buy-in final.

The Malta Poker Festival usually runs twice a year, once in the spring and again in the autumn. Regardless of the time of year, the €550 buy-in Malta Poker Festival is always well-attended, and a top prize tipping the scales at six figures is the norm.

The October 2024 edition of the Malta Poker Festival Main Event saw a record-breaking 2,045 players buy in and create a €941,568 prize pool. Italian Domenico Lando came out on top, turning his €550 investment into a career-best €140,000. Lando was embroiled in an intense three-handed battle against Greek nationals Theodoros Ampelikiotis and Nikolaos Konstas, who finished third and second for €66,000 and €93,000, respectively.

Earlier this year, at the 2025 Malta Poker Festival Spring Edition, Aurelio Vallone came out on top of a 1,202-strong crowd and scooped €94,600. Impressively, the aforementioned Lando finished fourth for another €32,150.
