Punnat Punsri is a Thai professional poker player who made history in 2025 by becoming the first Asian player to win the Global Poker Index (GPI) Player of the Year award. He is currently ranked #1 on Thailand’s All-Time Money List with over $31 million in career earnings.

Punsri burst onto the scene in January 2022 by winning a $10,000 PokerGo Tour High Roller at the Venetian Las Vegas for $118,037. One day later, he won another $10,000 buy-in event, bringing his total to $133,200.
At the 2022 WSOP, he narrowly missed out on winning his first bracelet, finishing third in the $50,000 High Roller and second in the Poker Hall of Fame Bounty to former professional StarCraft player Jinho Hong.
Later that year, Punsri won his first Triton Poker Series title, winning the Triton Cyprus Main Event for $2,600,000.
The following year, Punsri enjoyed another strong start to the year with a victory and runner-up finish in the PokerGO Cup, before resuming his dominance on the Triton Poker Series with two Invitational final tables.
Punsri finished fifth in a Luxon Invitational at the 2023 Triton Poker Series in Cyprus for $1,325,000, and third in the Triton Poker Series London Luxon Invitational for $3,107,000.
Punsri is a regular on the Asian Poker Tour, and has won numerous title in South Korea, Vietnam, Taipei, Jeju and Manila, as well as the 2023 APT Taipei Main Event.
In 2024, Punsri has continued to dominate the Super High Roller scene. A second Triton title came in Jeju in March 2024, before missing out on the Triton Monte-Carlo Main event, finishing third for $2,045,000 in November 2024. At the same festival, he finished runner-up in a $50,000 buy-in tournament for another seven-figure score.
He also finished runner-up at the 2024 WSOP in the $5,000 8-Handed No-Limit Hold'em for $523,648, the closest Punsri's come to a WSOP bracelet.
And if 2024 was a stellar year, then 2025 would really set the world on fire. In total, Punsri would win seven tournaments in 2025, including three more wins on the Triton Poker Series, an EPT Mystery Bounty trophy and an Asian Poker Tour side event title.
He also finished second in the inaugural Triton ONE Main Event for $1,205,775.
He also recorded two third-place finishes at the 2025 WSOP — ironically for a High Roller, both coming in $1,500 buy-in events. All of this en-route to winning the 2025 Global Poker Index Player of the Year.
