What is Robinhood?
For years, Robinhood has been one of the most trusted and popular platforms for trading stocks. It has built a strong reputation in the scene and the company, in recent years, has later expanded to offering various cryptocurrency investments.
More recently, Robinhood has become a top spot for prediction markets trading for those located within the United States. Launching its Prediction Market Hub in early 2025, Robinhood has quickly become a major player in the game. While currently only available in the US, the company's looking into expanding its operations further, to offer Robinhood prediction markets in Europe and Asia.
So, what exactly are prediction markets on Robinhood?
They are markets where users can trade simple yes/no contracts on a range of different topics. From Trump to tech firms, Dogecoin to the LA Dodgers, there are so many markets to delve into and wager money on. If you correctly predict the outcome of an event, you'll get paid out based on the probability of it happening at the time you entered the market.
Will Bitcoin reach $500k this year? Likely not, so if it does happen and you've bought a contract, you'll get a high return on investment. On the other hand, US tariffs to bring in $200+ billion this year is far more likely, thus will result in smaller returns if successfully traded. That's essentially how Robinhood's prediction markets work.
Robinhood Bonus & Referral Code
The best Robinhood bonus is the $200 free stock bonus.
Robinhood's prediction market platform does not offer a specific bonus, however, the Robinhood trading platform as a whole does have a welcome bonus for new customers.
Anyone signing up to a Robinhood account (that can be used to access their Prediction Markets Hub) will receive a free stock worth between $5-$200. Naturally, the typical bonus amount is usually $5, but it is possible to be awarded with free stocks worth up to $200. Either way, it's a nice way to start your investment journey.
How to Claim the Robinhood Welcome Bonus
Claiming the Robinhood welcome bonus is easy, but does come with steps you must complete. One of these is to fund your account, so take note that simply signing up is not enough for your free stock to be released. Follow these quick steps to claim the Robinhood bonus.
Click the link below to visit Robinhood start claiming the bonus
Once you've funded your account and claimed your free stock bonus, you can then visit the Robinhood Prediction Markets Hub and trade the wide range of prediction markets on offer.
Prediction market platforms aren't like poker or casino sites, where bonuses are available in abundance. So the fact that Robinhood offers a bonus at all sets it out from some other competitors. Sure, you might just end up with $5 worth of stock, but it could also be $200 and either way it's still something for nothing. Robinhood's welcome bonus is definitely worth signing up for.
The possibilities are endless. If you have an understanding of anything within those general topics, chances are you’re going to be able to make some profitable predictions (*though remember, there is always risk involved and nothing is ever guaranteed).
Sports Markets on Robinhood
There’s an endless supply of sporting events to trade contracts on with Robinhood. What's more, there's no rigid, set structure, meaning one-off sporting events like the 2026 Winter Olympics or the 2026 World Cup are covered extensively with the contracts on offer. Of course, there are regular, recurring markets as well, including both professional and collegiate across several sports.
Examples
”Who Will Win the World Baseball Classic?”
”Will the Seattle Seahawks win the Super Bowl?”
”Will the U.S. win the most gold medals at the Winter Olympics?”
There are many sports fans within the poker community. Here’s your shot to show you know as much about the NFL as you do calculating pot odds.
Political Markets on Robinhood
Everyone is a political expert these days, at least if you believe what you read on social media. But if you truly are an expert in the world of politics, why not show off your expertise and make some money?
Examples:
“Will Donald Trump run for a third term?”
“Will Kamala Harris run for President in 2028?”
“Will the Republicans win the Senate in 2026?''
Finance Markets on Robinhood
If you have a knack for paying attention to market trends, you’ll crush it with the finance markets on Robinhood.
Examples:
”What price will silver close at in 2026?”
”Who will be the next Chairman of the Federal Reserve?”
”Will Tesla stock rise in 2026?”
Entertainment Markets on Robinhood
Are you an entertainment buff? Keep up with the latest Hollywood gossip? Then give Robinhood’s entertainment markets a shot. There are hundreds of topics within this general subject.
Examples:
”Will Jay-Z face criminal charges in 2026?”
”Highest grossing opening-weekend movie of the year?”
”Will Drake drop a Billboard Top 10 song in 2026?”
I love the markets available to trade on Robinhood's Prediction Markets Hub. Naturally, I already follow a lot of the topics covered and so if I believe an event is mispriced, I can take advantage and try trade contract on that real-world event in an efficient, no-hassle way.
Robinhood is one of the most user-friendly mobile apps and online platforms in stock trading and prediction markets. It’s a convenient platform with more useful features than we can count.
One of my favorites is the 'timeline' feature. Each market has a timeline on the contract page that clearly outlines at what stage the contract is at. For instance, has the event happened yet, has the contract been resolved or has it been paid out on? It also shows the trading hours in which the contract is available. Another strong features of Robinhood is the 'Estimated Cost' line in the contract slip. This clearly shows how much in fees you will pay for each contract, so there are no unwanted surprises.
While these things may seem basic and obvious, they just add that extra layer of transparency that makes it clear and simple to trade for all users, whether they're beginners or more experienced.
The entire process of signing up for an account, making a deposit, viewing the various contracts available to trade on, and buying and selling contracts is also simple and takes minimal time. Furthermore, navigating through the various markets available is very convenient. You have tabs at the top for each main market type, and once clicked you can then browse the specific contracts on offer.
Overall, Robinhood haven't tried to over complicate things. That's not to say their prediction market platform is basic or not substantial. There's a good volume of markets to trade, but they've created their platform to make it quick and as easy for users as possible. In just a few taps, you can have a trade open on any topic you want.
Robinhood App UX: Tough to Beat
Robinhood is available on both desktop and mobile. However, it's clear Robinhood has put a strong focus on creating a top-of-the-line app. Those efforts have been highly successful.
It’s easy for users to make trades on the go, whether you’re out to dinner, at home, or playing poker live at the casino. Everything you need to trade event contracts is right at your fingertips with the Robinhood app, and the simplicity you get on desktop is definitely transferred across to the phone screen.
Payment Methods, Fees, Trading Limits, and Payouts
Robinhood offers a lot of flexibility when it comes to prediction markets, and that extends to the payment methods and limits as well. In this section, we will cover them all, explaining what payment methods you can use on Robinhood, what fees and limits apply and how payouts work.
Supported Payment Methods
Robinhood's deposit and payout process is also convenient. There are many ways to pay and get paid, such as debit cards, bank transfers, direct deposit and cryptocurrency transfers. Here is a full list of payment methods available:
Bank Transfer
Instant Bank Transfer
Direct Debit
Crypto Transfer
Fees and Trading Costs
Fees are an industry standard practice across any trading, prediction market or even poker platform, that are taken to help the operator continue to facilitate their services and help make it financially viable. So, like any other prediction platform, Robinhood does include certain fees you should be aware of.
Firstly, when trading contracts, there is a small commission fee of $0.02 per contract. This is comprised of $0.01 fee that goes to Robinhood and $0.01 that goes to Kalshi - with the two companies in partnership and Robinhood integrating some Kalshi features into its platform. A $0.02 fee isn't a lot, particularly if you're trading higher stakes, but it's worth taking note of.
In terms of payouts and withdrawals, some payment methods often comes with fees but on Robinhood, you won't be charged any extra deposit fees. In terms of withdrawing, fees do sometimes apply but it depends on the method you're withdrawing funds to. For instance, debit card withdrawals will incur a 1.75% fee (minimum $1, maximum $150). So, if you withdraw $500, you'll be charged $8.75. A withdrawal of $10 will incur the minimum charge of $1.
Trading Limits and Payouts
In the context of prediction markets, limits relate to deposit and withdrawal limits. For instance, you won't be able to deposit or withdraw large amounts in one go. The exact limit will vary depending on the payment method used, so make sure you check these beforehand. Deposit times are usually instant, but withdrawals can take up to 3-5 business days to go through - again depending on the method used.
Payouts on contracts are usually quick, but can take up to a day from the conclusion of the event or market closing.
Is Robinhood Safe and Legit?
Robinhood is one of the safest and most legit apps out there for purchasing and selling event contracts.
The company is a major business with a massive customer base and a solid reputation built up over several years of transparency. The company based out of Menlo Park, California, generates nearly $3 billion in revenue per year and trades on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) under the ticker HOOD.
That alone means Robinhood must abide by numerous, stringent regulations that include regular, quarterly reports, and also must operate under strict market conditions in order to maintain its regulated status.
Overall, Robinhood is very safe, secure and legit. You can win real money trading real-world events and the fees associated with their Prediction Markets Hub are easy to spot and transparent.
