Short Break

Level 29 : 80,000/160,000, 20,000 ante

Players are on a ten-minute break. We'll take advantage of this pause to find out exactly how many chips they each have.

Jose Luis Lopez Eliminated in 6th Place (£4,780)

Jose Luis Lopez
Jose Luis Lopez

We've lost another, and Jose Luis Lopez can consider himself unlucky. From second in chips to out in two hands is always cruel, but especially with the pay jumps so brutal at this stage.

Lopez first lost a big pot when shoved from the button with {A-Hearts}{6-Hearts} and was called by Artan Dedusha, who doubled up his 2 million chip stack when his pocket nines call in the big blind held.

Lopez then made the move all-in with {K-Spades}{4-Clubs} and Longbo Mi called it off with {Q-Hearts}{7-Hearts} in the big blind. The run-out of 7s5hJd4dAd] saw Lopez out in sixth place and we have a final five.

Barron Hits the Treble

Level 28 : 60,000/120,000, 20,000 ante

Neil Barron called a min-raise pre-flop and he was three-way to a flop of {8-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{7-Clubs} against chip-leader Artan Dedusha and Svetlin Ivanov. All three men checked, and saw a turn card of {A-Hearts}, whereupon Dedusha made it 320,000 to carry on, Ivanov called, and Neil Barron moved all-in for 950,000 total. Both of his opponents made the call!

Artan Dedusha: {5-Hearts}{6-Hearts}
Svetlin Ivanov: {K-Hearts}{10-Hearts}
Neil Barron: {A-Spades}{2-Spades}

The river came an innocuous {Q-Diamonds}, meaning Barron trebled up...and made sure Ivanov was in trouble. With just 14 big blinds, the Bulgarian is going to have to make a move and soon.

Since the final table began, James Mitchell and Jose Luis Lopez (pictured) have perhaps enjoyed the best starts.

Michael Harb Eliminated in 7th Place (£4,000)

Level 27 : 50,000/100,000, 15,000 ante
Michael Harb
Michael Harb

Michael Harb moved all-in for 920,000 in the small blind and was immediately called by James Mitchell in the big blind. Harb was in terrible shape.

Michael Harb: {A-Spades}{J-Clubs}
James Mitchell: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}

The flop of {6-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} kept Mitchell in front. The turn of {3-Diamonds} prompted a plaintive cry of 'Chop?!' from Harb, who had stood up, in hope of a reprieve.

The {6-Spades} on the river saw Mitchell eliminate the man to his right and leap to 3.2 million in chips. Is the former Irish Open winner about to add another trophy to his collection?

Vitalli Seman Eliminated in 8th Place (£3,000)

Level 26 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

Vitalli Seman is out of the Opening Event after he opened to 120,000 pre-flop then called off Jose Luis Lopez' all-in from across the table in late position.

Vitalli Seman: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}
Jose Luis Lopez: {10-Spades}{9-Spades}

the flop of {10-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{A-Hearts} gave each man a pair, but Lopez needed help. He called for a 'Ten!' but the turn was a {4-Hearts}. However, on the {10-Hearts} river, the Spaniard had the winning hand and Seman was out, with £3,000 and a ticket to the Main Event later this week as his prize.

Mi Doubles Through Ivanov

Level 25 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante

In typical blind-on-blind style, the biggest stack shoved from the small blind to bully the short stackmin the big blind, but Svetlin Ivanov was called by Longbo Mi.

Svetlin Ivanov: {8-Hearts}{8-Spades}
Longbo Mi: {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}

The board of {Q-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}{4-Spades}{7-Hearts} never really flirted with giving Ivanov more than two outs, and Longbo Mi has doubled back into contention.
