With players now back at the felt after their first break (they will play 13 levels tonight), here are some of the chip-counts from the most famous faces in the room.

Fletcher Eliminates Two to Grow Lead

Level 3 : 150/300, 50 ante

It's hard not to cover Arron Fletcher's meteoric rise in the first four levels (although why is it meteoric, they plummet to the surface of a planet!) as the London-based player is up to 90,000 chips, having started with 25,000 just two hours ago.

After seeing one player call, and the player in the cut-off make it 2,200 pre-flop, Fletcher raised to 8,000 in the big blind. The original caller shoved all-in for 11,000 and the player in the cut-off re-shoved for 18,025. Fletcher called both of them, turning over {A-Hearts}{J-Clubs}. He was behind the original caller's {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts} but ahead of the cut-off's {7-Spades}{8-Spades}.

The flop of {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{J-Spades} put Fletcher ahead, but on the turn of {9-Hearts}, Fletcher fell behind. After asking the dealer politely for a jack, however, one landed on the river and Fletcher had busted two opponents, raking in easily the biggest stack in the room. Incredible.

Bradpiece Bluffs the River

Level 3 : 150/300, 50 ante

Jerome Bradpiece has arrived in the £100,000 Guaranteed opening event here at Aspers Casino in Stratford and after running up a stack of over 31,000, has lost a pot on the river.

With a board of {9-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{4-Spades}{10-Diamonds}, he bet 2,000 into a pot of around 8,000 and that looked fishy to his opponent.

"I knew that I should have check-raised the turn." he said, bemoaning his lack of attacking on that crucial 4th street. He still managed to make the call, however, and was shown Bradpiece's bluff with {J-Clubs}{5-Clubs}, not good enough to topple the gentleman's {4-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}.

Questioned on why he made the bluff, Bradpiece was effusive and with a twinkling smile, suggested that it nearly got through. For a time, it really did look as if it had.

Teddy Takes his Seat

Level 3 : 150/300, 50 ante

With play approaching Level 4, Teddy Sheringham has sat down. The former England, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United legend will be looking to continue a very good record in live poker during his first foray into the game.

Sheringham may not have taken to the live felt for some time, but he cashed for just under $250,000 in a two-year period between 2010-2012 that included a WSOP Main Event ran to 388th place and a final table at EPT Vilamoura.

Can Teddy book a Day 2 seat at his first attempt in this opening event? He looks in determined mood to do just that.

Terry Jordon In and Out

Level 3 : 150/300, 50 ante

Terry Jordon has departed, not long after sitting down here on Day 1a of the £100,00 Guaranteed Opening Event here at 888Poker's London Live Festival.

Unfortunate to run his stack down to just 4,200, Jordon got that into the middle pre-flop with one of the most famous hands in poker, 'Texas Dolly' itself, {10-Spades}{2-Clubs}. The hand Doyle Brunson won two WSOP Main Events with was up against {A-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}, however, and did not survive the board of {9-Spades}{3-Spades}{9-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{K-Diamonds} .

Jordon will not be re-entering tonight with one of the two re-entry options players can enjoy until the end of Level 6...but confirmed to us directly that he will be sitting back down tomorrow on Day 1b.

Fletcher on Form

Level 2 : 100/200, 25 ante

Arron Fletcher had started the tournament better than anyone as he takes an early but potentially significant chip-lead in the room as he bids to make Day 2. He took down a massive pot at the first blind level of 50/100

Fletcher saw a gentleman raise to 250 from under the gun, so three-bet to 1,100 in middle position over a call. After calls from both players, the flop of {2-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} saw Fletcher lead for 2,200. Only the gentleman in middle position was interested, but he raised to 6,500, which Fletcher called. On the turn of {J-Spades} , Fletcher faced an al-in shove from his opponent...and called with {7-Spades}{2-Spades}!

Astonishingly, it was the correct call as his opponent turned over {Q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} and found no luck on the river to drop down to just 5,000. Fletcher has 55,000 chips and that is more than anyone else right now.
