istomin Dusts Off Net

Level 10 : 2,000/4,000, 400 ante
Rembert Net
Rembert Net

Rembert Net shoved his short stack from middle position and Kim Sanchez called. Aleksei Istomin in the big blind had other plans and moved all in to force a fold from Sanchez.

Rembert Net: {7-Spades}{6-Spades}
Aleksei Istomin: {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}

The {9-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{4-Spades} flop was a huge sweat for the Dutchman, but both the {4-Diamonds} turn and {8-Hearts} river bricked off to eliminate Net.

Big Pot for Escote Sanchez de Leon

Level 10 : 2,000/4,000, 400 ante

On the {K-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{6-Spades}{4-Spades} turn, Patrik Antonius check-called a bet worth 15,000 by Sergi Escote Sanchez de Leon and checked again the {Q-Spades} river. Escote Sanchez de Leon now bet for 16,000 and Antonius, glancing up from a massage, check-raised big to 95,000.

After some consideration, the Spaniard called and Antonius rolled over {A-Spades}{4-Hearts} for bottom pair only. Escote Sanchez de Leon had that beat with {A-Hearts}{Q-Clubs} and raked in a big pot.

Last Break for Tonight

Level 9 : 1,600/3,200, 400 ante

Istomin Busts Speranza; MacIntyre Takes from Huntly

Level 9 : 1,600/3,200, 400 ante

Aleksei Istomin raised to 6,500 and called the shove of Simone Speranza for 38,900.

Aleksei Istomin: {A-Spades}{10-Spades}
Simone Speranza: {J-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}

The board ran out {K-Hearts}{J-Spades}{7-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} and Istomin turned the nut straight to bust Speranza.

In the last hand of the level, Gordon Huntly and Fraser MacIntyre saw the {A-Spades}{Q-Spades}{6-Spades}{3-Clubs} turn and Huntly bet 21,000 in the small blind. MacIntyre called from early position and did so again for 35,000 on the {5-Diamonds} river. Huntly showed {A-Hearts}{Q-Clubs} for top two, but MacIntyre had that beat with {3-Spades}{3-Hearts} for a turned set.

"That's not good for the Scottish relationship," MacIntyre joked to his fellow countryman.

Riera Tayeda Takes from Dogra Dogra; Folds to MacIntyre

Level 9 : 1,600/3,200, 400 ante

Harcharan Dogra Dogra defended his big blind against a raise by Xavier Riera Tayeda and checked the {6-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{4-Clubs} flop. Riera Tayeda checked behind and called the small bet of Dogra Dogra on the {K-Clubs} turn before doing so again for 15,000 on the {A-Diamonds} river. Dogra Dogra mucked and forfeited the pot.

Riera Tayeda raised the next hand to 6,500 and Fraser MacIntyre defended the big blind. MacIntyre check-called a bet of 7,300 on the {J-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} flop before the {Q-Diamonds} turn went check, check. The {3-Hearts} river paired the board and MacIntyre's bet of 13,200 forced a fold from the Spaniard.

Kurko Still In It

Level 9 : 1,600/3,200, 400 ante
Kimmo Kurko
Kimmo Kurko

Kimmo Kurko leaned over to fellow Finn Aku Joentausta from one seat over while he was all in for less than 10 big blinds. Kurko was at risk with the {6-Spades}{6-Hearts} and his sole opponent on the button showed {Q-Hearts}{9-Hearts}.

Kurko flopped well to get a set on {6-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}, while Joentausta jokingly asked for a three on the {4-Diamonds} turn. It was the blank {7-Clubs} river instead that saw Kurko double, but he remains well below the starting stack.
