888Live London Festival Opening Event
Day 1b Started
The 888Live London Festival at Aspers enters its second day today with Day 1b of the £220 buy-in £120,000 guaranteed Opening Event.
Today will feature a large number of 888Poker online qualifiers who have won their £220 seat for as little as $1 as well as an increased number of local poker players who flock to the 888Live branded poker room for a Friday night of cards and chat.
Yesterday Jamie Spencer ended up as the runaway chip leader bagging 1,083,000 after 13 levels of play. That was over twice as many chips as second placed Paul Bahbout (489,000) with Abu Hamza Khalek in third on (476,500).
Spencer was one of 21 players who made it through to Day 2 on Sunday from a total number of 182 entries.
Cards are in the air again at 6 p.m. with 13 scheduled levels of play. The first 6 levels will be 30 minutes and the remaining 7 40-minutes long. Play is due to end at some time past 3 a.m.
The PokerNews Live Reporting team will be on hand to bring you all the action from the Festival so why not come along and get involved? There are 10 trophies to be won with tournaments to suit all pockets and a number of cheap satellites. You can find the full schedule here.

Action is underway for Day 1b of the opening event with a buzzing Aspers poker room, and with plenty of people queuing at the registration desk it looks set to be a busy day of poker.
The room is filling up with 92 players registered so far.
One of them is Terry Jordon who at one point hand 500,000 chips in Day 1a but it went a bit wrong, or as he put it, "Gambled."
Jordon was all in blind on the turn of a board reading just now and managed to win that one. It could be gambling time again!
