Players are now on a 25-minute break.
Day 1d Turbo may have started but registration is also open all day for Day 1c and players are still registering and re-buying.
Approaching the second break of the Day there are now 202 unique entries and 38 re-buys to make a total of 240 entries and a very busy Aspers.
Michael Mutch is trying his luck at the felt today at the Opening Event.
Mutch is a journalist on the Essex Chronicle Series and readily admits to his poker experience being mostly limited to online freerolls and micro stakes.
Mutch has been playing a steady tight game so far today but it looks as if fortune has not been favouring him as he is down to around 6,000. Plenty of time to turn it around though, so look out for his article appearing in the local paper in the near future.

For the first time in 888Live tournaments Aspers will see the introduction of the Shot Clock.
Once the dealer has dealt the last card in a hand they operate the timer with a pedal and the 'Shot Clock' begins and each player will be given a certain amount of time to act.
If a player is facing a bet or raise, the timer will begin only after their chips are counted and the number of chips required to call are stated. Players will also be allotted a certain number of time extensions, each of which will add an extra thirty seconds to the timer in the event that they need more time to reach a decision.
You can read more about the Shot Clock which will be used in both the High Roller and the Main Event later in the Festival.
