Yaron Kuznik's Kings Hold

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

The player under the gun moved all in for 38,000. Yaron Kuznik was seated in middle position with a stack of around 100,000 and called.

It folded to the player in the big blind who wanted a count of the all in. He thought for a long while, looking at Kuznik's stack and then counting out his own. In the end he folded.

Kuznik showed {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds} and his opponent had {7-Clubs}{7-Spades}. As for the big blind, he said he folded {9-}{9-}, and now sat in agony waiting to see if a nine showed up.

In the end, it didn't, but a king did secure that the all-in player's chips headed Kuznik's way as the board ran out [qctd2kh3d].

That's a Record!

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

According to tournament organisers, this tournament now has over 715 entries. That means it broke the record for most players in an 888 event, which was 700 set at the 888Live stop in London last year! According to tournament clocks there are currently 97 left in Day 1C and 146 in Day 1D, so there are still lots of players looking to join the 44 who have made their way into Day 2.

Tobias Matuschek Back Up and Running

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Tobias Matuschek raised to 5,500 from middle position with the blinds 1,000/2,000 with a 300 ante.

It folded around to the player on the button who asked how many chips they had. He replied "Around 40" and the other player then moved all in.

Both the blinds folded and the original player called tabling {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}. The player on the button showed {a-Spades}{7-Spades}.

The board ran out {j-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} and Matuschek scored the double up.

From the talk at the table, it sounds like Matuschek was short-stacked not a long while ago, and has now grown his stack to almost six figures.

Break

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

The players in Day 1C are going on a short five minute break at the end of level 11, probably to assist tournament officials as they seat any last minute re-entries.

Gehrke Sticks Around; Eliminates a Player

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

A player raised from early position to 3,500 out of a short stack, and it folded around to Joerg Gehrke who moved all in for 17,300.

The other player thought before calling and tabling {k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}.

"You win," said Gehrke, obviously not feeling confident as he tabled his {a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} and got to his feet.

The board ran out {q-Spades}{8-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{6-Spades}{10-Spades} and a relieved Gehrke sat back down to count his chips. No sooner had he done so, the floor came over to break his table, and he got to his feet once more.

Luigi Micu Making Moves

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

The player on the button raised to 2,700. Luigi Micu called from the small blind, as did the big blind.

The flop was {6-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{2-Spades}. Micu checked and the big blind bet 4,000. The button folded and Micu called.

The turn was the {5-Clubs}, and again Micu checked. His opponent bet 9,000 this time and Micu called.

Both players checked the river, which was the {3-Spades}. The player in the big blind had to show first, but seemed reluctant to do so, eventually turning over {9-Clubs}{7-Spades}. Micu turned over {2-Clubs}{2-Hearts}.

"You have to bet river," said Micu, raking in his newly-won chips, "You bet flop, you bet turn - you have to bet river..."

Andre Barsuhn Rakes in a Pot

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

The under the gun player limped, and it folded around to Andre Barsuhn in the small blind who completed, and the big blind checked.

The flop came {6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} and Barsuhn checked to the player in the big blind who bet 2,100 and the under the gun player called.

With the action back on Barsuhn, he raised to 6,500 with the player in the small blind being the only caller.

The turn is the {10-Clubs} and Barsuhn bets 10,000, and his opponent quickly calls.

The river is the {2-Clubs} and both players check. Barsuhn turns over {7-Clubs}{8-Hearts} for a flopped straight, and his opponent flashes {7-Clubs}{8-Hearts} before mucking.
