Only 17 players out of a 551-entry strong field remain in contention for a six-figure payday and $12,600 package for the 2019 World Series of Poker Main Event courtesy of WSOP sponsor 888poker, as the 2019 888poker LIVE Barcelona €1,100 Main Event will draw a conclusion today.

All remaining contenders have €4,700 locked up for their efforts, but all eyes are set on the €110,000 top prize, the trophy and a trip to Las Vegas later this summer. Leading the field into the final day is 36-year-old professional football player Ferran Corominas (2,170,000), followed by Samuel Hernandez (1,540,000) and Gabriele Rossi (1,395,000).

888poker ambassador and 2014 WSOP Main Event champion Martin Jacobson is fifth in chips with 1,285,000 and he is joined by five 888poker qualifiers for the final day: Laszlo-Istvan Salamon (1,295,000), Jai Saha (1,160,000), Cornelis de Jong (1,005,000), Henrik Ahlstroem (530,000) and Mikael Johansson (505,000).

Other notables that will return to their seats in the Cotton Candy room at Casino Barcelona are 2016 WSOP Main Event finalist Fernando "Nandit" Pons (1,020,000), Zhong Chen (810,000), Tom-Aksel Bedell (600,000) and Stefano Schiano (580,000).

Schiano Doubles Through Chen

Level 23 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Stefano Schiano pushed in the first hand of the day and scooped the big blind of Fernando Pons and the big blind ante.

One hand later, Zhong Chen raised to 55,000 in the cutoff and Schiano shoved for 630,000, which Chen called.

Stefano Schiano: {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}
Zhong Chen: {9-Clubs}{9-Hearts}

The board came {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{5-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} and Chen was left with a mountain to climb.

Frederik De Linde Farrington Eliminated in 17th Place (€4,700)

Level 23 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Frederik De Linde Farrington
Frederik De Linde Farrington

After paying off a value bet by Samuel Hernandez, who had {q-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} on a board of {q-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{4-Spades}, Frederik De Linde Farrington open-shoved the button for the last 225,000. Martin Jacobson asked for a count in the big blind and made the call.

Frederik De Linde Farrington: {k-Spades}{7-Clubs}
Martin Jacobson: {j-Clubs}{9-Clubs}

The {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{6-Spades} flop gave Jacobson trips nines and Farrington needed running cards for a straight. The {5-Diamonds} turn was a start, but the {4-Spades} river brought no miracle.

Martin Jacobson raised to 50,000 on the button and Ricardo Pinto three-bet to 175,000 in the small blind. Jacobson gave it some consideration and sent his cards into the muck with four seconds left on the shot clock.

The next hand on the outer table saw a push by David Hu, who collected the blinds and big blind ante.

Larsson Doubles Through Pons

Level 23 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Over on the feature table, Kristian Larsson raised to 55,000 with the {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} and he was called three ways including Fernando Pons in the big blind with {7-Spades}{6-Hearts}. The flop came {q-Spades}{7-Hearts}{6-Spades} and Pons check-shoved into a bet of 90,000 by Larsson, who called for the last 625,000.

The {q-Clubs} turn gave Larsson trips and Pons failed to avoid a major setback on a blank {10-Hearts} river.
