Delfoco Among the Chip Leaders

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante
Francesco Delfoco
Francesco Delfoco

On a flop of {10-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{3-Spades}, Marc Gonzalez Valls checked in early position and called a bet of 7,000 by Francesco Delfoco on the button. The {5-Diamonds} turn was checked by Gonzalez Valls and Delfoco waved with his hand to see the stack of his opponent before he ended up checking behind.

The {k-Clubs} river was the final community card and Gonzalez Walls check-called another bet of 9,000, but mucked his cards in disgust when Delfoco turned over the {a-Spades}{k-Hearts} for top pair and top kicker on the river.

Sofia Lovgren opened to 1,800 and was called by Martin Jacobson and Ionut Berbec. Out of the blinds, Santiago Giraldez jammed in for just over the starting stack and that forced out all opponents.

No longer featured on said table is Casey Kastle, while Marvin Hannemann has taken over the role of biggest stack.

Bedell the "Lucky Guy"

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

With 13,800 in the middle and the flop showing {6-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}, Tom-Aksel Bedell was all in from the button for 20,100 and his opponent made the call with the superior stack and {8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}. Bedell was in need of help, as he only held {7-Hearts}{7-Spades}.

The {4-Spades} on the turn indeed provided some hope and Bedell said "give him an eight." Instead, the Norwegian spiked the {3-Clubs} river and doubled through.

"Lucky, lucky guy. What should I say, I am always lucky!" he exclaimed while raking in the pot.

The Registration Remains Open

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante
Zhong Chen

The registration for Day 1a and all following flights remains open for the entire duration of each starting day. Indeed some players are jumping in late as Day 2 of the €2,200 High Roller whittles down the field to possibly reach a final table.

Among those to bust the High Roller and join Day 1a were Zhong Chen and Stefano Schiano. The former has very fond memories of this very location as he scored his career-best result two years ago at Casino Barcelona. Schiano also comes fresh of a big score at the 2019 EPT Monte-Carlo festival from a few weeks ago.

Colomina Shows Quads

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

Ramlal Basdeo ended up defending out of the blinds and bet the {9-Spades}{3-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{10-Spades} turn to pick up a call by Adria Colomina Guitart. Basdeo bet the {2-Clubs} river for 7,500 and his opponent then moved all in for 27,400. Basdeo used one time bank and folded, and Colomina Guitart flashed {3-Hearts}{3-Clubs} for quads.

As a result, Basdeo once again dropped below the starting stack.

Triple Up for Tarlev

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante
Petru Tarlev
Petru Tarlev

In a four-way pot to a {7-Spades}{6-Spades}{5-Hearts} flop, the stacks of Petru Tarlev in the big blind, Tom Aksel-Bedell and Julian Menhardt went in.

Tarlev had flopped the goods with {9-Spades}{8-Diamonds} while Menhardt was drawing to the same straight with {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} for the overpair and gutshot. Bedell had plenty of outs with {a-Spades}{4-Spades}, but the turn and river were both blanks as the rest of the board was all but rushed away.

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante

Ana Marquez and Sofia Lovgren were below the starting stack while Chris Moorman and Martin Jacobson are above the average at half time.
