Jens Ostergaard has re-entered after his early exit and now sits on a table with two big stacks in Giuseppe Carbone and Lamberto Collina. The latter took on fellow Italian Simone Rosano, who three-bet an open raise to 600 and a call by Alexandre Tannouri. Rosano in the cutoff made it 2,200 to go and he was called by Collina and Tannouri.
On a flop, action checked to Rosano and he continued for 2,700, only Collina called and then led the turn for 10,500. That won the pot right there, as Collina dragged in the pot without showdown.
On the river of a board , Andrea Manzoni bet 4,700 and his sole remaining opponent called to get shown by the Italian, which was more than enough to drag in the pot. Manzoni is among the bigger stacks in the room right now with rather tight action early on Day 1b.
On the tail end of a bigger pot between Alex Baena I Carrasco and Alessandro Montagna, the former bet 1,300 into a pot of 3,000 with the completed board showing . Montagna called and quickly mucked when his opponent showed for a flush. The same also features Romain Piraux as well.
Jon Gurrutxaga final-tabled the €2,200 High Roller and 9th in the WPT Main Event, and the young Spaniard is looking to add another deep run to his collection here at Casino Barcelona. Further notables in the Day 1b field include Robert Escribano, Sergio Alonso and Siiri Saar.
Initially part of the livestream team, Saar won the Ladies Event in Bucharest and received a package to play the Main Event. Her work duties for the upcoming stream may be delayed depending on her progress in the tournament.
With up to 77 entries, the Day 1b field will soon surpass yesterday's numbers and two notables that have been spotted towards the end of the first level are former WSOP Main Event finalist Fernando Pons and Derek Reid. Scotsman Reid final-tabled the last 888poker LIVE Main Event in Bucharest and finished in 8th place for € 8,800 back in March 2019.
"This is my first tournament since then, I have been busy with work," Reid mentioned when he sat down.
"Seat open," the dealer on table 11 announced and the cards and board were already rushed away while Balazs Biri was sitting on a double stack. According to the dealer and Biri, it was Jens Ostergaard that had played all but 20 minutes before sending his stack over to Biri when he got it in with pocket tens on a turn.
Biri happily called with for trips fives and a gutshot straight draw, and faded the two outer to start Day 1b with a bang.
At the same time as Day 1a of the 2019 888poker LIVE Barcelona Festival €1,100 Main Event, the €2,200 High Roller played down to a champion on the second tournament day. Registration remained open until the cards went back in the air and a field of 87 entries emerged with the top nine spots taking home a share of the €167,040 prize pool.
Only the top nine spots were paid and plenty of big names fell before that including the 888poker ambassadors Chris Moorman, Martin Jacobson and Ana Marquez to name just a few. The bubble burst in cruel fashion when Francois Evard got his last few chips in with pocket nines and Jesus Cortes, who boosted his chip lead on the bubble significantly, hit two pair with six-five.
A few hours later, it would indeed be Cortes, a former EPT Main Event finalist and recent Super High Roller participant, that lifted the trophy for the winner shots.

Jon Gurrutxaga was the first to cash and he recorded another result at Casino Barcelona after his deep run in the WPT Main Event not long ago. Maor Glam, Gisle Olsen and Thierry Gogniat became the next casualties and especially Olsen was quite happy with his result as he had dropped to just over one big blind at some point.
Defending €1,100 Main Event champion Adrian Costin Constantin had to settle for fifth place. The Romanian first lost ace-king against jack-ten suited and failed to get there for the rest of it with ace-nine suited versus pocket sixes. Isabel Baltazar then fell victim to the surge of Cortes, who got there with king-eight suited versus ace-queen suited thanks to an eight on the flop.
Down to the last three, Sonny Franco and Cortes were the big stacks and 888poker ambassador Vivian Saliba below ten big blinds. She eventually pushed with six-trey suited and Franco called with ace-seven to reduce the field to the final two. Quite late in the night - or early in the morning - Cortes and Franco struck a deal in heads-up and head to play for the trophy and €7,890 with a shortened level duration. Ultimately, it was a simple flip that sealed the victory for Cortes, who held up with pocket fours against queen jack to claim the trophy.
Many of the notables that entered the €2,200 High Roller are expected to join the action on the remaining two flights of the €1,100 Main Event.
Several players from Romania have made the trip to Barcelona, which comes as no surprise thanks to the cooperation with PokerFest Romania during the 888poker LIVE stops in Bucharest.
One of them is Stefan Dan, who just lost a minor pot when raising from under the gun and calling a three-bet by Stefano Rosano on the button. With 1,600 in the middle and the flop showing , Dan checked and subsequently folded to a bet of 600 by Rosano.
