Tannouri Eliminated

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante
Carmen Zainescu
Carmen Zainescu

Alexandre Tarrouni first chopped with ace-jack against the ace-jack of Kara Scott on the feature table and then jammed over an open raise of Carmen Zainescu with {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}. Zainescu looked him up with {j-Clubs}{8-Clubs} and indeed got there on a board of {9-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{3-Spades}{6-Clubs} on the feature table.

The action can be seen on the YouTube channel and facebook page of 888poker with hole cards displayed on a security delay of 30 minutes.

Double Knockout for Badosa Palau

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante
Joaquim Badosa Palau
Joaquim Badosa Palau

A reraise to 3,200 was in front and Khalil Youssafi then made it 7,400 to go. Joaquim Badosa Palau splashed in a lot of T-5,000 chips as far biggest stack at the table and Julian Menhardt called all in. The fourth player in the hand folded and Youssafi called all in as well.

Khalil Youssafi: {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}
Julian Menhardt: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}
Joaquim Badosa Palau: {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}

On a board of {10-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{3-Clubs}, Badosa Palau turned a set to eliminate two opponents. Menhardt almost immediately re-entered to sit down on a different table in the poker room of Casino Barcelona.

Benitez and Baltateanu Bow Out

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

Amado Martin Benitez limp-called a raise by accident and ended up getting his 20,000 in with {8-Spades}{7-Clubs} on the 8d8h5cJd] turn. Big stack Andrea Salamone snap-called with {j-Hearts}{j-Spades} for the top full house and the {7-Diamonds} river brought no miracle one outer.

Soon after, Silviu Baltateanu was eliminated when Casey Kastle turned two pair with {9-Spades}{2-Spades} and the Romanian stormed off with a "nice call." The same table also features 2017 champion Luigi Shehadeh, who has since dropped below the starting stack.

Hansen Doubles With a Full House

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

A French player with a big stack was moved over to the table of Jesper Hansen and the Dane then doubled when he rivered a full house and his table neighbor pushed on a bluff. The board showed {10-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{j-Clubs} and Hansen bet 12,000 and called the shove in an instant with {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} to get shown {k-}{q-} for air.

The Re-Entries Keep on Coming

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante
Claudio Di Giacomo
Claudio Di Giacomo

Adrian Costin Constantin had some 50,000 not long ago, but just entered the tournament area with a fresh ticket in his hand. On the former table of the defending champion, Claudio Di Giacomo was sitting on healthy 90,000 and the Italian was also a recent re-entry.

Di Giacomo three-bet to 4,300 shortly after and was called one way. On a {q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{8-Clubs} turn, Di Giacomo bet 3,000 and picked up a call. After the {7-Diamonds} river, he then check-called 6,600 and won the pot with {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} versus {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} to boost the stack further.

Antonin Teisseire lost a flip with sevens on the feature table that kicked off after the previous break and he also jumped right back for the third bullet in the tournament.

De Marco Vanishes in a Flip

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante

As decent as the start into Day 1c was for Luis Alberto De Marco, as badly the last few levels went. Eventually, the Spaniard got it in preflop for around 13,000 with {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds} and his table neighbor looked him up with the {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}.

The {q-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} flop sent De Marco behind, and he failed to catch any help on the {4-Diamonds} turn and {k-Diamonds} river run out.
