Johansson Flips Well

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Guillem Marcos ended up all in and at risk preflop with the {a-Clubs}{k-Spades} and had a classic flip against 888poker online qualifier Mikael Johansson, who turned over {j-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}.

On a board of {8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}, neither an ace or a king showed up. Instead, Johansson even spiked a jack on the river to make a set to score the knockout.

Gregori Wins a Big Pot Off Kooij

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Oriol Gregori
Oriol Gregori

On a flop of {a-Spades}{8-Spades}{2-Clubs}, Oriol Gregori bet 17,500 and Teunis Kooij called on the button. The {7-Diamonds} turn was checked and Gregori then bet the {q-Diamonds} river for 55,000. Kooij used one time bank and called for more than half of his remaining stack to get shown the {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts} for top two as the winning hand.

Ferran Corominas doubled with kings versus aces while Jose Jesus Iban, Ricardo Graells and Daniel Rueda Merino all walked out of the tournament area.

"I lost jacks versus aces and then {a-Spades}{9-Spades} against pocket fours, four on the flop," Rueda explained.

Salamone Takes a Rough Beat; Sowa Busts With Aces

Level 13 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
Gereon Sowa
Gereon Sowa

In a three-way all in, Gereon Sowa ended up all in and had the best of it against two bigger stacks from Italy in Andrea Salamone and Patrick Sanfilippo.

Gereon Sowa: {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}
Patrick Sanfilippo: {a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}
Andrea Salamone: {j-Hearts}{j-Spades}

The {j-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{5-Diamonds} flop all but sealed the fate of Sowa, while Salamone was on the verge of becoming the new chip leader. However, the {2-Diamonds} turn and {q-Diamonds} river run out gave Sanfilippo an unlikely nut flush and he knocked out Sowa and doubled through Salamone for more than 120,000.
