Constantin Wins Massive Clash

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Alexandru Constantin
Alexandru Constantin

Danut Chisu and Adrian Voiculescu have been eliminated while Artan Dedusha and Alexandru Constantin shot up to the top of the leader board by quite a margin.

Voiculescu and Constantin clashed and it ann unfolded on a {10-Spades}{8-Spades}{7-Clubs} flop when a raising war broke out. Voiculescu had already invested 30,000 in the small blind when he faced the jam by the only player that had him covered, and called it off for 92,000 total.

Adrian Voiculescu: {7-Spades}{5-Spades}
Alexandru Constantin: {j-Spades}{9-Diamonds}

Neither the {k-Hearts} turn nor the {10-Diamonds} river changed anything and Voiculescu left the table with a "bravo".

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Adrian Calusaru made it 2,300 to go from late position and Alexandru Constantin three-bet to 7,000 on the button. Calusaru four-bet all in for 27,300 and Constantin gave it some thought before making the call.

Adrian Calusaru: {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}
Alexandru Constantin: {q-Hearts}{q-Spades}

There was no upset on the board {10-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{3-Spades}{9-Clubs}{3-Hearts} and Calusaru doubled, taking a chunk out of Constantin's big stack.

Constantin Joins the Big Stacks

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Alexandru Constantin already had a decent stack and that just grew by a couple big blinds more as he sent Gheorghe Caplescu to the rail. A button raise to 2,200 by Constantin resulted in the shove of Caplescu with the {a-Hearts}{9-Hearts} in the small blind and Constantin called with the {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}.

On a {10-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} board, Caplescu found no help and quickly left the tournament area.

With the start of level nine, the late registration for Day 1a has also ended with 67 entries in total, and 34 players currently remain.

Ivgi Eliminated by Berinde

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Artan Dedusha and Kfir Ivgi
Artan Dedusha and Kfir Ivgi

Kfir Ivgi already had a decent portion of his stack invested and moved all in out of the small blind on the {6-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{10-Hearts} turn. Bogdan Berinde in the cutoff quickly called and the cards were turned over.

Kfir Ivgi: {10-Diamonds}{7-Spades}
Berinde: {4-Clubs}{4-Hearts}

Ivgi needed a five to avoid elimination and instead improved to meaningless trips tens with the {10-Spades} river.

One table over, Ivgi's best friend Artan Dedusha sent Ozgur Arda to the rail to reduce the remaining field further.

Cuza Pulls Further Away

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

First to act, Mihail Cuza opened to 2,300 and was called by Andrei Iordache on the button and George Dimuleasa in the small blind. The flop came {k-Spades}{j-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} and Dimuleasa checked, Cuza continued for 4,200 and raked in the pot after two quick folds.

With those chips gained, Cuza pulled further away at the top of the leader board while Stuart Sewell still appears second in chips.

No Day 2 for Racolta Yet

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante
Andrei racolta
Andrei racolta

Razvan Cirstian, Raoul Iancovici and defending champion Andrei Racolta have been eliminated. Mihai Niste confirmed what had happened to Racolta, as he received the chips and was still joking with him in Romanian while the next hand was about to kick off.

According to Niste, he opened with ace-queen and called the three-bet jam by Racolta, who had pocket nines and lost the flip.

Nine Romanians Remain in Opening Event

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

The €230 Opening Event is down to the last nine hopefuls and all of them are from Romania.

Seat 1: Nicolae Popa
Seat 2: Ionut Decher
Seat 3: Viorel Gavrila
Seat 4: Igor Pirnau
Seat 5: Narcis Gabriel Nedelcu
Seat 6: Bogdan Sirbu
Seat 7: Florin Rotila
Seat 8: Marius Soare
Seat 9: Sorin Radulescu

Radulescu is still in the lead by some margin, while Manfred Sierke was the last non-Romanian to bust in 11th place. Sierke was all in for around 13 big blinds with {a-Clubs}{q-Spades} versus {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} and an ace-king high flop crushed the hopes of the Canadian.

The current average stack is at 20 big blinds and the lion's share of the €56,400 prize pool still up for grabs.

Toderita Eliminated by Iordache

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante
Liviu Catalin Toderita
Liviu Catalin Toderita

Andrei Iordache raised and Vlad Tatu three-bet to 3,800 from two seats over. A short-stacked Liviu Catalin Toderita four-bet all in for the last 15,000 and Iordache called, while Tatu reluctantly folded.

Liviu Catalin Toderita: {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}
Andrei Iordache: {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}

Toderita had been involved in big pots with suited connectors and they came back to haunt him, as the board ran out {j-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{4-Hearts}. While he still clicked buttons on his smartphone, he called his opponent a fish in Romanian before leaving the tournament area.
