Marius Givocanu three-bet jammed out of the small blind for 23,100 and was called by initial raiser Demos Demosthenous to create a somewhat unusual coin flip.
Marius Gicovanu:
Demos Demosthenous:
The board came [19c6s4dAcJc] and Gicovanu paired his ace on the turn to remain in contention.
Marian Strachinescu raised to 2,100 and was called by Michal Lubas in the small blind. Marcel Fulgusin three-bet to 4,000 in the big blind and both opponents called. On the flop, Lubas checked and folded to a bet of 6,000 by Fulgusin and a call by Strachinescu.
Both the turn and river were checked through and Fulgusin showed for aces up to win the pot.
Sofia Lovgren and Chris Moorman have spent rather uneventful days at the tables so far with Lovgren slightly below the starting stack and Moorman above that. Moorman just called a raise to 2,200 by chip leader Gennaro Proscia, and Francesco D'Armi also called in the big blind.
The flop was checked to Moorman and a bet of 2,600 was all it took to claim the pot.
According to the screens, Day 1b has attracted a field of 135 entries of which 77 currently remain. The registration for the second starting day has closed and all those that bust in the remainder of the day have the regular Day 1c and the turbo heat 1d to look forward to on the next day.
Marvin Ben Haim jammed into Johan Guilbert once and the fellow Frenchman folded, then Ben Haim ended up all in once more and was quickly called by Radu Lungu.
