Jaksland Doubles on the Bubble

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Peter Jaksland
Peter Jaksland

Peter Jaksland defended his big blind and ended up at risk for 32,000 on the {j-Spades}{9-Hearts}{8-Clubs} flop. He was called by George Dimuleasa in late position and the cards were turned over once all other tables were finished.

Peter Jaksland: {q-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}
George Dimuleasa: {k-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}

"King-nine has not been good to me today," Jaksland said, as he had his aces cracked by that very hand. This time, it would not be his nemesis hand as the {a-Clubs} turn and {8-Diamonds} river were blanks to secure the double for the Dane.

Gheonu Shows a Bluff

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

The first hands on the money bubble didn't provide any showdowns and the bubble is yet to burst. Several big stacks apply pressure to add even more chips to their growing towers and one of them is Mihai Gheonu. He was just involved in a hand with George Rotariu, who bet the {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{4-Spades} turn for 35,000. Gheonu in the cutoff raised to 115,000 and forced a fold, he shows a bluff with the {a-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}.

Hand-For-Hand Mode Imminent

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Marian Mitran busted just before the blinds went up and Gusti Adrian Sas did so a few minutes into the new level. As a result, there are only 64 players remaining and the stone-cold money bubble has been reached. One table will now break and the action then recommences in hand-for-hand mode.

Three to the Money

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Aleeyah Jadavji
Aleeyah Jadavji

Aleeyah Jadavji had carefully waited for a spot with her short stack and the run eventually came to an end a few spots off the money.

Further casualties just before the money included Adrian Voiculescu and Victorio Piturca. The latter lost a flip for his last 80,000 against Bogdan Berinde when he came up second-best with {3-Diamonds}{3-Spades} versus {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} on a board of {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{k-Spades}.

Arnautu and Mihai Near the Top

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Alexandru Arnautu in the small blind three-bet an open raise from Aldo Monteleone in the cutoff and a cold-call from Johannes Roumen on the button to pick up one call in Roumen to see a flop of {7-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}. Arnautu continued for 51,000 right away and Roumen sent his cards into the muck.

Traian Mihai won a big four-bet pot with aces versus ace-king suited to further build his stack, he is followed by Alexandru Grigore.

Double Knockout for Mihai

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Traian Mihai
Traian Mihai

Dan Murariu was all in with very few chips and the {k-Diamonds}{6-Spades}, and big stack Traian Mihai also sent Sakis Nicolaou to the rail when the stacks went in after the {j-Hearts}{9-Spades}{2-Diamonds} flop, as he had hit two pair with {j-Spades}{2-Clubs}. Nicolaou only had {k-Clubs}{j-Spades} and saw the {5-Spades} turn and {a-Hearts} river brick off.

Hristian Panchev was eliminated over on the feature table when he ran ace-jack into the {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds} of Natalia Drytchak. The board came {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{5-Hearts} and Panchev was left drawing to a miracle chop on the turn with quads eights.
