Several players jumped in at the last minute including Vivian Saliba, but her attempt at spinning up 12 big blinds was not crowned by success. The buy-in of all 888poker qualifiers that didn't make it to Sochi due to visa problems has been added to the prize pool and that has boosted the field to 569 entries in total.

Evgeniy Chernyak

On the river of a board {k-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{7-Clubs}{7-Spades}{q-Diamonds}, Evgeniy Chernyak bet two third of the pot against Dmitriyu Batuev and picked up a call to roll over the {a-Spades}{j-Clubs} for the ace-high straight. Batuev mucked {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} for kings up and dropped well below the average.

Saliba Eliminated in Three-Way All In

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Just before the players headed into the dinner break, Vivian Saliba was all in and at risk, facing Ramin Gasanov and Oleg Volkov who had both covered.

Vivian Saliba: {k-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}
Ramin Gasanov: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}
Oleg Volkov: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}

The {8-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} flop gave Saliba some back door outs, but the {5-Spades} turn sealed her fate. For Gasanov disaster struck as the {a-Diamonds} river improved Volkov to aces up and locked up the double knockout.

Kudryavtsev Gets Value

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

With some 35,000 in the middle and the completed boars showing {a-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{a-Spades}{q-Clubs}, Dmitryi Ilyin check-called a bet of 23,000 by Sergey Kudryavtsev and was shown the {a-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} for trips aces. That was good enough for Kudryavtsev to scoop the pot and pull ahead of his opponent.

Kvashin Leaves Gromov Short

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Dmitry Gromov
Dmitry Gromov

Alexsey Gatsko appears to have added another hefty chunk to his stack and indeed Aleksey Savenkov, who was last spotted on his table with around 200,000, has since vanished.

Dmitry Gromov may very well experience the same fate soon after he check-folded to a jam by Konstantin Kvashin on the {9-Spades}{7-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{7-Spades} turn. Kvashin offered to reveal one card and Gromov picked the {10-Diamonds}.
