Gicovanu Chips Up More

Level 7 : 400/800, 800 ante
Marius Gicovanu
Marius Gicovanu

Day 1b was not fortunate for Marius Gicovanu as he was eliminated twice on the same table, even in the very same seat. It seemed like a bad sign when he drew the very same table again but this time, things have been running smooth for the Romanian thus far.

On a completed board of {k-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{6-Clubs}{9-Clubs}, Gicovanu made it 28,000 to go and his sole remaining opponent tank-called after using one time bank extension. Gicovanu revealed {j-Clubs}{10-Clubs} for a flush and that won the pot.

Zilberman Gets Bluffed

Level 7 : 400/800, 800 ante

Arie Zilberman had apparently flopped two straights already and made a lot of chips while he then did so again in the last hand before the previous break. This time, the chips were not sent over to the third-place finisher of the €2,200 High Roller as Mauro Tremolada bet the {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}{10-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} river.

Zilberman snap-folded the {q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} face-up and Tremolada showed {7-Hearts}{5-Hearts} for a bluff.

Quads for Rodriguez Moreno

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante
Jose Luis Lopez Exposito
Jose Luis Lopez Exposito

With already 95,000 in the middle to the {q-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{2-Spades} flop, Miguel Angel Rodriguez Moreno checked out of the small blind and 888poker qualifier Jose Luis Lopez Exposito bet 35,000, which Arik Filstein called. Rodriguez Moreno called all-in for 25,600 and they headed to the {q-Clubs} turn, the shove of Lopez Exposito was quickly called.

Miguel Angel Rodriguez Moreno: {q-Hearts}{q-Spades}
Jose Luis Lopez Exposito: {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}
Arik Filstein: {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}

The {9-Diamonds} on the river was a blank and that ended an incredible three-way showdown which let Rodriguez Moreno triple up with quads.

Kully Sidhu and Chris Da-Silva were eliminated in a tournament in London earlier today, jumped right into the plane and headed straight to the tables here in Madrid. Also involved in the action is High Roller runner-up Ignacio Molina, Pasquale Grimaldi will aim to run a stack, too.

Macesovic Loses to Marmolejo Iglesia

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante

A rather strange hand unfolded on an outer table when the board showed {a-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{2-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}.

Irena Macesovic bet 15,000 and Carlos Marmolejo Iglesia vaulted out of his chair to see her stack. He then grabbed into his own stack and pulled out two T-25,000 chips. No raise was announced and while he was about to place the chips, one dropped and the other fell right behind to make it a string-bet.

The floor was called and even though Marmolejo stated that his intention was a raise, it was ruled a call. Macesovic was first to show and tabled the {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} while Marmolejo had {a-Spades}{a-Clubs} for the full house. He apologized to Macesovic while Luigi Shehadeh and Carmen Zainescu on the same table were left with the heads shaking.

Castejon Vazquez Near the Top

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante

Juan Castejon Vazquez had sent Joseph Mouawad to the rail and that boosted his stack to nearly 300,000, which appears to be the current lead in level six.

In the meanwhile, Sofia Lovgren has joined the action and taken the seat that previously belonged to Michael Larkin.
