Three-handed on a flop of Q♠6♥K♠, Ryan Otto bet 7,000 from the button and Francis Obadun called in the hijack, as did a player in the cutoff.

All three players checked the 9♠ turn. The river came the 8♣ and Obadun led out for 26,000.

The cutoff folded, but Otto snap-called and turned over 6♣6♠ for a flopped set. Obadun showed him 4♠3♠ for a turned flush as he took the pot.

Querbach tanked for a minute before shoving all in for 50,000, and Rattan snap-called.

"I almost folded," Querbach said. The flop came A♥7♠4♥ and Rattan made top set to leave Querbach drawing to a miracle. None arrived on the 2♥ turn or 5♥ river and he was eliminated.

"Would you ever fold there," another tablemate asked Daniel Bedson.

"On Day 1 of the tournament? Never in a million years," Bedson replied.

Mark Johnston was all in for 22,900 in middle position and up against Majid Nadeem, who was also all in for around 10,000 more. Charlie Reed also called in the big blind, having both opponents covered.

Reed had both players at risk with his queens and improved to top set on the Q♣10♣2♠ flop. Nadeem had a straight flush, but the K♣ turn was no help and Johnston and Nadeem were both a card away from elimination.

The J♣ fell on the river and Johnston suddenly made a flush to earn a triple up, while Reed took the side pot to bust Nadeem.
