After an exciting opening week of action at 888poker LIVE Madrid, it’s time for the real fireworks to begin. The €888 Main Event has reached Day 2, as the remaining field combines into one room at Casino Gran Via with the top prize of the series up for grabs.

Players are currently competing in the last chance Day 1d turbo flight, while late registration remains open until the start of play at 5 p.m. local time. A total of 377 entries were made over the first three days of action, with the remaining 117 players bringing their stacks into Day 2.

The chip leaders of each day so far occupy the top three spots on the leaderboard, with Italy’s Paolo Boi returning to his seat with 134 big blinds after dominating Day 1a. Federico Estrada is next with 492,000 chips, good for 123 big blinds after topping the Day 1b field. Meanwhile, the top Spanish player is Nacho Martin, who led the way on Day 1c and is the only other player with more than 100 big blinds.

Early Pot For Mansouri

Level 12 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Abraham Serrano opened to 12,000 from the cutoff and called when Amir Mansouri three-bet on the button to his left.

Serrano checked the 556 flop and called when Mansouri continued for 22,000. The Q turn saw Serrano lead out for 24,000, which was called by Mansouri.

Serrano then quickly announced a check in the dark before the dealer turned over the 9 river. After some thought, Mansouri checked back. Serrano turned over A10, with Mansouri showing 88 to take down an early pot.

Viewers on the 888poker LIVE stream just witnessed a big hand early on Level 12.

Ciprian Dan opened to 11,000 in the hijack and was promptly three-bet by Alexandre Mantovani on button, making it 50,000 while leaving his last 4,000 behind. Dan made the call out of position.

The dealer fanned a flop of 299, with Dan putting Mantovani all in and the 888poker Ambassador calling.

Alexandre Mantovani: 22
Ciprian Dan: A9

Mantovani flopped a full house, while Dan was trailing with trip nines. The 7 turn was safe, but the 7 left Dan with a better full house. Mantovani wished everyone good luck as his run came to an early end.
