In the 853rd episode of the PokerNews Podcast, which is sponsored by PokerStars, Chad Holloway, Kyna England and Mike Holtz are back at Level 9 Studio in Las Vegas to talk about the term "fish" in poker. It's a debate set off by veteran poker media member Tiffany Michelle, who used the term while vlogging at the Arizona State Poker Championship and caused quite the kerfuffle in the poker community. It was even the topic of the most recent edition of the Muck and led the crew to the topic of proper vlogging etiquette.
They then break down a wild pot-limit Omaha hand that was about to award a $118K Bad Beat Jackpot but was invalidated due to an unbelievable river card, highlight wins by Kathy Liebert and Lisa Fleishman, and take a look at the 2024 NAPT schedule (Nov. 1-10) which included the Mixed Game Festival IX taking place at Resorts World, which has found itself in a bit of hot water with gaming authorities.
Finally, the crew remembers a trio of poker players who recently passed away in Matt Snook, Dan Sewnig, and Alexander Hill.

Players are going on a 60-minute dinner break. Action should resume around 5:15 p.m. local time.
Jack McDermott raised to 1,500 on the button and Arvydas Vilcinskas called in the big blind.
The flop came 8♥2♦A♦ and McDermott continued for 2,000. Vilcinskas called and the 7♥ fell on the turn. McDermott then bet 8,500 and Vilcinskas again called.
Vilcinskas checked the J♣ river and this time McDermott checked back, showing A♣Q♥ for top pair. Vilcinskas, though, had 8♣7♣ for two pair to win the pot.
With around 9,000 in the pot on a board of 9♥3♦9♦Q♥, Airidas Stazys bet 4,000 from the button and Mark Gann called in the hijack.
The river was the K♣ and Gann led out for 2,000. Stazys came back with a raise to 15,000, sending Gann into the tank for several minutes before he called.
Stazys turned over 3♠3♥ for a flopped full house and Gann mucked K♦J♦.
Calogero Morreale moved all in for 6,100 from under the gun and Jamie Dale called in middle position.
Calogero Morreale: Q♥10♥
Jamie Dale: A♥Q♣
Dale had Morreale dominated as the Q♦J♠2♣ flop gave both players top pair. Dale remained in the lead with his ace-kicker through the 2♠ turn, while the 5♠ fell on the river to send Morreale to the rail.
Michael Rosaman bet 1,100 from the hijack on a flop of 8♠8♣6♦ before Yuet Wong raised to 3,100 in the big blind. Rosaman called.
Both players checked the 3♠ turn and the 8♦ fell on the river. Wong then bet 6,600 and Rosaman quickly called.
Wong showed 5♣4♠ for a missed straight draw, while Rosaman turned over 6♥5♥ for a full house to win the pot.
Darryl Rogan moved all in for 6,000 on the button and Jordan Cockram called in middle position.
Darryl Rogan: A♠Q♣
Jordan Cockram: K♥7♥
Cockram wasn't behind for long as the 7♠6♥4♥ flop gave him top pair and a flush draw. The 10♥ turn completed his flush and left Rogan drawing dead by the 5♣ river and heading for the exit.
