It folded to Matthew Wright in the small blind, who pushed all in. Alex Montgomery snap-called his stack of 310,000 off in the big blind, putting himself at risk.
Alex Montgomery: Q♥Q♣
Matthew Wright: A♥8♣
Montgomery was a favorite to double up, and increased his chances of doing so after the flop came K♣10♦4♦.
The A♠ river paired up Wright's ace, however, and the 9♦ river was not enough to save Montgomery from his demise.
Terelle Tavares opened to 100,000 in early position. Keith Tuckley jammed all in for 340,000 from the hijack, and Tavares called after receiving a count.
Keith Tuckley: A♦K♠
Terelle Tavares: 7♥7♣
Tuckley turned four extra outs on J♥4♣5♦Q♠, but the 5♣ river bricked off to secure Tuckley's exit in 15th place.
Harry Sandford in the cutoff and Wantao Tang on the button both checked the 5♦6♥J♥J♦ turn. Sandford also checked the A♣ river, prompting Tang to fire 225,000 into the pot of 450,000.
Sandford mulled it over for a bit before he tossed in a call. Tang showed A♥10♥ for aces and jacks, and Sandford studied his opponent's hand for a bit before he returned his cards to the muck in defeat.
Terelle Tavares made the minimum raise to 80,000 in the cutoff with 10♣8♣. Alex Montgomery looked down at K♣10♦ in the big blind and tossed in a call.
Montgomery check-called Tavaer's bets of 120,000 on the K♥Q♥5♣ turn and 220,000 on the J♠ turn before he checked a third time on the 6♣ river.
Terelle completed his triple-barrel bluff by putting Montgomery all-in for his last 380,000. After some time in the tank, Montgomery mucked his top pair, meaning Tavares took the pot with his bluffed ten-high.
Andrew Lam open-shoved for 630,000 in the hijack and was called by Ryan Mandara in the cutoff. The rest of the table folded before the players showed down.
Andrew Lam: 7♥7♣
Ryan Mandara: A♠Q♠
Lam's pocket pair remained ahead on the J♣5♥2♦ flop and 6♣ turn, but the unlucky A♥ river spelled the end of his Main Event adventure as Mandara rivered top pair.
Wantao Tang opened the action with a raise to 60,000 in middle positon. Ling Chen pushed in a small three-bet to 160,000, which Tang four-bet all-in once it had folded back to him.
Chen only took a few moments to think before he called off his stack of 700,000.
Ling Chen: 8♥8♦
Wantao Tang: Q♥Q♣
Chen stood up as the 3♣3♠A♦J♥ flop and turn left his inferior pocket pair unimproved, and Tang eliminated his opponent in style by making a full house on the Q♦ river.
Level: 21
Blinds: 20,000/40,000
Ante: 40,000
Jerome O'Shea moved all in for 400,000 in the hijack and was looked up by Ciaran McCullagh on the button.
Jerome O'Shea: K♣Q♥
Ciaran McCullagh: A♠A♥
O'Shea could not threaten the aces of McCullagh on the 2♠10♥10♠4♣8♠ runout, and he was consequently eliminated from the Main Event.
