Tavares Takes Last of E.C.'s Chips

Level 19 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Former big stack E.C.'s stack had dwindled to just a few big blinds, with most of his chips seemingly having ended up in Harry Sandford's stack. He put in his last chips against Terelle Tavares preflop.

E.C.: K6 All in
Terelle Tavares: AA

E.C. flopped outs by pairing on the KQ7 flop, but the 8 turn was of no use. The A river upgraded Tavares to trips, awarding him the pot and eliminating E.C. from the Main Event.

Simpson Busts After Bluffing in Chip Lead Pot

Level 19 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Ian Simpson
Ian Simpson

Vitor Paiva and Ian Simpson had reached the 10527J river in their blind-on-blind battle. With an impressive pot of 350,000 in the middle, Paiva made a small bet of 50,000.

Simpson then announced his all-in, covering Paiva's stack of 590,000. Paiva went deep into the tank, tossing in a calling chip after spending some time banks.

Simpson could only show ace-high with A3, and Paiva triumphantly tabled 98 for the winning straight. Paiva was sent the pile of chips to take over the tournament lead, while Simpson was left with just over two big blinds.

Not much later, Simpson lost his final chips as well to mark his elimination.

Sinead Davenport
Sinead Davenport

Sinead Davenport got her stack of 175,000 in preflop against Wantao Tang, putting her at risk of elimination.

Sinead Davenport: AK All in
Wantao Tang: AK

Both players had Big Slick, but Tang freerolled after the 7A2 flop gave him a flush draw. He locked up the pot on the Q turn, and Davenport took her leave as the 9 rolled off on the river.
