In last year’s event, local architect Pau Veciana defeated British pro David McConachie heads-up to capture the top prize of €70,000 for beating out a field of 459 entries. It was an international affair last year, with five different nationalities represented at the final table. A similar mix of players from across Europe and the world is expected to descend on the Catalan capital over the coming few days.
The 888poker team is also coming out in full force, including Ian Simpson, Vivian Saliba, Lucia Navarro, Jesus Ramos, and Inaki Angulo.
