Cheevers Shows the Better Two Pair
Level 2
: Blinds 100/200, 200 ante
John Cheevers limped in from the hijack before the cutoff raised to 800. The button, big blind, and Cheevers all called.
All four players checked the A♥K♥5♦ flop. The big blind then led out for 1,100 on the Q♠ turn, and only Cheevers called.
Action checked to Cheevers on the 4♥ river, and he bet 1,500. "Flush?" the big blind asked Cheevers as he tossed in the chips to call.
"No flush. Two pair," Cheevers replied, showing A♣4♠ for aces and fours. His opponent flashed K♠Q♦ for his own two pair before mucking.
