XL Blizzard #32 - $500,000 Main Event

Its almost time for the biggest Blizzard of them all - the $500,000 Main Event. The XL Blizzard series blew across 888poker starting on February 6th with $1.4 million in guaranteed prizes. It culminates in XL Blizzard #32 - $500,000 Main Event, with more than a third of the series' guarantee up for grabs in this one event.

Its been a huge series so far. The Blizzard rolled in with XL Blizzard #1 - $50,000 Opening Event. They ended up with $62,500 in the prize pool and Germany's "resilience32" took it down for just shy of $12K. "usainzeus25" opened from early position to 500 before "ahjaa" came over top to 2,100. Chip leader "GenChampion" 4-bet the hijack to 4,200, and both other players came along to the flop.

The flop came {8-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{k-Spades} and it checked to GenChampion and they potted to 13,245. The initial raiser got out of the way, but "ahjaa" smooth called. {2-Diamonds} came on the turn, and "ahjaa" checked to "GenChampion" again, calling off their stack when GenChampion bet close to the pot again.

It was a tough spot for the chip leader with {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} versus the pocket kings of "ahjaa". {5-Hearts} on the river was irrelevant, and "ahjaa" grabbed an early stack.
