WPTDS #11 - $100,000 High Roller
Day 1 Completed
The first day of WPTDeepstacks Event #11 - $100,000 High Roller has now come to a close after just under five hours of play. There was a total of 55 entries including nine re-entries to create a $110,000 prize pool on Day 1, having just nine of those entries bag up for the night.
Leading the way is "matokr" who took control during the latter part of the night, climbing at a steady pace throughout the last few levels, and they will begin the final day with a chip-leading stack of 62 big blinds. "SMalderis" is the only other player over the 200k mark, thanks to the final hand of the night that resulted in "danmoran1" taking an exit as the bubble.

The WPTDeepstacks saw the eleventh tournament of the series kick-off earlier today at 1 p.m. ET and a total of 46 showed up to play. This created a $110,000 prize pool that just squeaked by the guarantee that was set. Only nine remain and all are guaranteed at least a min-cash worth $4,400 with the eventual champion pulling in $25,300 for their victory.
Once the late registration period closed, 20 were left in contention, and Niklas "tutten7" Astedt seemed to be making strides toward the top. But shortly after he would lose the better part of this stack with pocket queens versus the ace-queen that was held by "floatmasta". Astedt took an exit shortly after and hand-for-hand play quickly was in effect.
A few rounds went by before the imminent elimination of "danmoran1" who was dubbed the final table and money bubble boy. The final table was then set and all players bagged up for the night. They will return tomorrow December 8, at 2 p.m. ET to duke it out until a champion is crowned.
The PokerNews live reporting team will coincide with the 888pokerTV cards-up delayed stream to bring all of the action throughout the final day.
The final nine has been reached for Event #11 $100,000 High Roller here in the WPTDeepstacks Series, and it is "matokr" leading the way.
A recap of the day will be posted shortly.

The flop had "danmoran1" drawing all but dead as "SMalderis" hit a johnnie to give them a set.
A runout hit "danmoran1" with three ducks but the boat of "SMalderis" was too much and "danmoran1" was eliminated as the final table bubble.

Niklas "tutten7" Astedt:
"Draxalen"
An uneventful flop brought little excitement for Astedt, and a turn ended all hope as Astedt was then drawing dead to the river.
"Draxalen" took down the pot, eliminating one of the best from the field as the final table creeps up.
