Day 1 Main Event Action on Deck
The field for Day 2 of the World Poker Tour DeepStacks (WPTDS) London Main Event is nearly set, with just two more Day 1s to complete. The second to last Day 1 kicks off at 2:30 pm eastern time today, with another slate of players looking to add their names to the 123 players who have already booked a Day 2 seat in one of the previous qualifying days.
There is $1 million guaranteed in the Main Event, and they'll need more than 300 extra entries to make it that total. So far, a total of 674 entries have been recorded through the completed Day 1s, and with $1,000 of the $1,050 buy-in going to prizes, that means they will need another 326 entries between the final two flights to pay off the promised total.
Day 1 of the Main Event is scheduled to last 18 levels of 12 minutes each, but there is also an early escape clause. If they play down to 14% of the field remaining, they will bag up early for the night.
Players start the opening day with 10,000 chips, which works out to 166.7 big blinds to start the day, and late registration is open for nearly 3 hours after the cards go in the air. Players who lose all their chips before registration closes can also rebuy up to three times if they choose.
Cards for the second to last Day 1 of the WPTDS London Online Main Event gets underway at 14:30 ET (19:30 GMT), and PokerNews will be there to find out who bags a stack for Day 2, which runs Dec 20 starting at 14:00 ET (19:00 GMT). Stay tuned here for all the Day 1 action today from WPTDS London Online.
