James Doss wins Special Veterans Day Event #1 of Ante Up Poker Tour at Wild Horse Pass

While PokerNews is focusing its attention on this weekend's Ante Up Poker Tour $400 Main Event, it's not the only tournament that's played out here in the Ante Up Winter Poker Classic at Gila River Hotels & Casinos Wild Horse Pass in Chandler, Arizona.
In Event #1: $35 "Thank You For Your Service" NLH ($15 for military members) drew 288 runners and offered up an $8,840 prize pool. That was paid out to the top 36 players including Larry Juarez (11th - $159), Cheri Silard (14th - $133), Ray Marsh (20th - $88), Rick Watters (25th - $71), Kenneth Maher (30th - $62), and Samuel Fayzakov (36th - $57).
In the end, an eight-way deal was worked that saw seven players lock up $660 while chip leader James Doss took the title and $1,500 in prize money.
