Costa Stays Alive

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

Just moments ago, Primo Costa was joking with a friend on the same table about whether he should fire one more bullet today or not. That was when he had around 5,000 chips. Now it's a bit of a different story.

After one double up, Costa was facing a raise to 2,000 and three callers in front of him. Costa pushed all in for 10,400 in the big blind and picked up one caller.

Costa tabled {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts} and was in a dominating position against the {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs} of his opponent. The flop came {k-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} to strengthen his lead even more. The {4-Spades} on the turn locked up the pot and the {4-Diamonds} on the river was just a formality. Now, Costa has more than a starting stack but still has lots of work to do if he hopes to find a bag at the end of the day.

The Duckman Doubles Up

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Marv Karlins is widely known as 'The Duckman' in this part of Florida and he even carries around a little noisemaker that makes a quacking sound. If nothing else, it at least provides a little entertainment for his opponents. He recently found himself at risk for 24,600 and was flipping against Sherry Wiseman.

Marv Karlins: {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}
Sherry Wiseman: {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}

The flop came {7-Clubs}{4-Spades}{2-Hearts} which left Wiseman in the lead with her pair of nines. However, Karlins was able to spike the {j-Spades} on the turn despite two other players saying they folded a jack. The river was the {q-Spades} and Karlins scored a double up through Wiseman, who would be eliminated shortly after.

Harrell Sends Block to the Rail

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Jason Block
Jason Block

Jason Block just recently lost a large pot to Trey Harrell for a good chunk of his chips and the two were about to tangle again. Block opened to 2,200 in middle position and Mark Simmons called from the hijack. Trey Harrell three-bet to 7,500 in the cutoff and the action folded back to Block who shipped all in for around 28,000. Simmons stepped aside and Harrell made the call.

Trey Harrell: {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts}
Jason Block: {k-Spades}{q-Spades}

The board ran out {8-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{2-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} putting all undercards on the board and leaving Harrell's ace high as the best hand.

Mccormick Picks Off Simmons

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Mark Simmons raised it up from middle position and Justin Mccormick defended from the big blind. The flop came {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}{6-Clubs} and Mccormick check-called a bet of 3,000 from Simmons.

The turn was the {3-Hearts} and Mccormick checked again. Simmons tossed in a bet of 7,000 but Mccormick stuck around to see the {9-Hearts} on the river. Mccormick checked for the third time and Simmons blasted all in. Mccormick closed his eyes and palmed his chips into the middle, a stack of 26,700.

Simmons slowly turned over his {8-Spades}{7-Clubs} for absolutely nothing and Mccormick tabled {a-Spades}{10-Spades} for a pair of aces.

Andrade Running Up a Stack

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Saul Andrade
Saul Andrade

Saul Andrade just got moved to a new table but that didn't seem to stop the momentum he's been carrying for the last few levels. He opened to 3,000 in the hijack and the big blind was the only caller.

The flop fell {7-Spades}{6-Spades}{3-Hearts} and the big blind checked to Andrade who tossed in a bet of 8,000. The big blind check-raised to 20,000 and Andrade just called. The turn brought the {2-Spades} and the big blind led out for 15,000. Andrade just called again.

The river was the {10-Hearts} and the big blind threw in another bet of 15,000. Andrade called one more time as the big blind tabled {7-Hearts}{3-Spades} for two pair. However, Andrade flopped a set with {3-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} and raked in another massive pot.
