Ante Up Poker Tour at Reno’s Atlantis Resort August 15-25

Level 2 : 100/200, 200 ante
Atlantis Reno Poker Room
Atlantis Reno Poker Room

For the second time, the Ante Up Poker Tour will visit Reno’s Atlantis Casino Resort Spa. The series will run from August 15-25 and offer $350,000 in guaranteed prize pools over 19 events.

The highlight will be the $1,100 buy-in $200K GTD Main Event, which will feature two starting flights. The winner of Main Event appears on cover of October 2019 issue of Ante Up Magazine and gets a seat in the 2020 Ante Up World Championship Main Event and a personalized Tour Champion jacket.

“Tournament Director Andy Patton and I like our series to have balance: different buy-in levels for different bankrolls, some fun twists on no-limit hold’em tournaments, a few non-no-limit-hold’em tournaments and plenty of satellites to swell the fields where we have big guarantees.” said Keith Dames, poker room manager at Atlantis Casino Resort Spa in Reno, Nev. “Our players love bounties, so we have different buy-in bounty events where the bounty represents a different percentage of the prize pool. Events like the Black Chip Bounty have strategy considerations that differ from a standard freeze-out.”

Dan Casetta

Dan Casetta had his stack back over the starting amount of 40,000 after taking down consecutive pots.

The first hand saw Casetta, from the hijack, bet 1,500 on a flop of {10-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}. An opponent on the button called, and Casetta bet another 3,000 on the {8-Spades} turn, getting the fold.

On the following hand, Casetta opened for 600 from middle position, and the small blind called. Casetta continued for 1,000 on the {3-Hearts}{7-Spades}{q-Clubs} flop, getting the fold.

Kameron Petsche Wins Event #16: $160 Pot-Limit Omaha

Level 3 : 200/300, 300 ante
Kameron Petsche

While the Ante Up World Championship $1,650 Main Event is the premier tournament on the schedule, it’s far from the only one. In fact, the tour has been at Thunder Valley since early July hosting a slew of side events.

The PokerNews Live Reporting Team wasn’t on hand to capture the action from those events, but we still wanted to offer fans a brief look at all those who’ve captured titles during the Ante Up World Championship.

For example, Event #16: $160 Pot-Limit Omaha had 48 runners compete for a share of a $6,240 prize pool. The tournament ended in a three-way deal that saw Kameron Petsche claim the title and $1,705 in prize money.

Duckworth Does It Again

Level 3 : 200/300, 300 ante

John Duckworth has one of the bigger stacks in the room as Level 3 plays on, and he just added to that total in a heads-up pot against Patricia Dellow.

With the board reading {a-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{4-Spades}{a-Diamonds}, Duckworth put out a bet for 12,000 from middle position. Dellow called from the cutoff, and Duckworth showed down {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts} to take down the pot.
