With a raise and a call in front of her, Sosia Jiang moved all in over the top. It wasn’t the first time that Jiang had pulled that moved, but it got past the original raiser before Daniel Levy asked for a count. It was an additional 10,175 for Levy who thought for a bit before making the call.
Levy opened but Jiang had the goods with her .
“I’m sorry in advance if I hit an ace,” said Levy, but he didn’t have to apologise as the board was spread . Jiang doubled to 25,000 with Levy back to around 50,000.
Pravin Harji has continued his solid day at the felt, recently scooping up yet another pot. We arrived to find Harji against one opponent on a flop, with Harji having led out with a bet of 5,000. Harji’s opponent then fired back, making it 11,000 to go. Harji tank-called and the dealer flipped over an on the turn.
Despite the raise on the previous street, Harji didn’t slow down, leading out for 8,500 on the turn. Harji’s opponent decided to give up here and Harji scooped up some chips.
Daniel Levy has just seen his stack rise again as he solidifies his place near the top of the chip leader board. In order for Levy to get there, he had to eliminate a player.
The hand started with an open to 800 from the hijack, before the eventual eliminated player three-bet to 2,100 from the cutoff. On Levy in the big blind and he would four-bet to 5,100 after having a look at the cut-off player’s stack. The opener quickly got out of the way and the cutoff went deep into the tank before moving all in for around 29,000.
“I’m worried that was the sickest Hollywood ever,” quipped Levy as he thought about what to do next. “If it was, you deserve an Oscar.”
“Alright I call,” Levy said as he turned over .
The player tabled and quickly got out of his seat.
“Don’t leave yet, lots of queens in the deck,” Levy said.
Althought one of those queens would come on the board, Levy had hit a king and with that he scooped up the massive pot.
Cole Swannack has just made a nice call against Pravin Harji and now sits with a stack of around 30,000 after grinding with around about the starting chips for most of the day.
The hand in question was against Pravin Harji and we arrived with around 13,000 in the pot on the river of a board. Swannack checked over to Harji who bet a relatively small 3,200.
Swannack went deep into the tank, shifting in his seat and having a good look at Harji and at the board. Eventually Swannack called and Harji somewhat reluctantly showed his for a whole lot of nothing. Swannack turned over and Harji said, “good call man,” as Swannack added the new chips to his stack.
This time last year Pravin Harji, Miroslav Sheynin and Graeme "KiwiG" Putt were all at the Season 5 ANZPT Auckland final table.
All three of these players are currently still alive during the sixth level of Day 1b of this year's ANZPT Auckland Main Event.
Of these guys, Sheynin is doing the best and is in fact the chip leader of the entire field right now. Sheynin started the day off by winning a massive pot against two players when he rivered the nuts and since then hasn't looked back. Sheynin finished sixth in this event last year.
Harji has also had a handy day at the felt, consistently staying above 50,000 in chips. Harji was the best placed of these three mentioned players last year as he finished in third.
Putt on the other hand has struggled and currently has only 7,000 in chips. He'll need to find some help during the late stages of the day if he wants to improve on last year's eighth-place finish.
It hasn't been a great day at the felt for prominent Kiwi [Removed:17], but he did manage to win quite a handy pot recently. We arrived to find Yan moving all in for around 9,500 against one opponent on a board. The player opted to tank-fold and Yan quietly stacked up his new chips.
