Broom the Bully

Level 9 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

James Broom is starting to flex his considerable muscle here in the ANZPT Repechage Main Event. He’s laying the trash talking on pretty thick and now has some chips to boot.

We just caught him in an interesting pot against an unknown opponent. Apparently the two had tangled all afternoon as Broom put in another three-bet and his opponent called out of position. The flop landed {2-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{q-Clubs} and action checked to Broom who bet 5,100. His opponent check-raised to 12,000 and Broom thought briefly before making the call, leaving himself a tick over 15,000 behind.

The turn was the {7-Spades} and the action again checked to Broom who went all in. The unknown player went deep into the tank, clearly pained over the decision. After several minutes of thought, Broom started to lay into him with the verbal barrage that we’ve come to know and love. Most of it was inaudible but clearly Broom was getting stuck into his opponent over his play. Graeme Putt eventually called for the clock and the player folded which saw even more verbal ammo fired his way from Broom as he raked in the pot.

The player didn’t say a word, but looked like he was about to explode when the tension was broken by the floor staff breaking the table, much to the disappointment of nearly everyone else at the table who were enjoying the entertainment.

Broom now has a stack of around 50,000 and has been relocated to the direct right of James Obst which could mean we see some more fireworks very soon.
