How About That River

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

It looked like the first elimination was about to happen, but then a river card changed everything.

The hand in question began when Michael Guzzardi opened to 20,000 from under the gun. Michael Doyle made the call before Gregory Wheeler three-bet to 40,000. Both Guzzardi and Doyle called to see the dealer flip over a {4-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{4-Clubs} flop. Three checks and a {9-Hearts} hi the turn. Tjhis time when Guzzardi checked, Doyle moved all in for 126,000. Wheeler folded, while Guzzardi called to put Doyle at risk.

It was Guzzardi with {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} having Doyle crushed with {3-Spades}{3-Clubs}.

River: {3-Hearts}

"Get them baby!" Doyle's girlfriend screamed from the rail at the sight of the three.

And get chips he did.

Despite the hit, Guzzardi still has a very healthy 560,000.

On the river, it was checked to Huang, who bet 50,000. McLean called and then mucked when Huang showed {a-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}.

Bechar Shoves

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

The action has still been quite slow at the final table of the ANZPT Perth Main Event.

Guzzardi Gets Some Off Doyle

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Michael Guzzardi had the button when he opened it up to 24,000. Michael Doyle called out of the big blind and so too did Gregory Wheeler in the big blind. All three players checked the {k-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{6-Hearts} flop, while the {4-Clubs} turn would see Doyle lead for 24,000, Wheeler fold and Guzzardi call.

On the {q-Diamonds} river, Doyle led for 75,000 and Guzzardi called.

Guzzardi tabled {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts} which trumped Doyle's {a-Hearts}{4-Hearts}.

Double Doyle

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

The short stack, Michael Doyle, has managed a double up.

It started when he opened to 29,000 from middle position. Michael Kane three-bet to 60,000 and Doyle moved all in for 198,000. Kane made the call and with that, Doyle was at risk.

It was Doyle with {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}, flipping against Kane's {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}.

The {6-Hearts}{7-Spades}{k-Spades}{k-Hearts}{3-Hearts} board gave Doyle the pair he needed to double up.

Long Hand and Break

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Raiden Kan and Michael Kane have just played a hand that lasted over 10 minutes.

It started with Kane opening to 25,000 from middle position. Kan three-bet to 60,000 from the big blind and Kane called.

On the {3-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} flop, Kan led for 65,000. Kane called and a {8-Clubs} hit the turn. This time Kan led for 100,000 and Kane called.

The river was a {2-Clubs} and now Kan moved all in for 188,000 with Kane having 240,000 behind.

Kane went deep into the tank as the tournament clock ticked into the break. After a few minutes, the staff opted to pause the clock so the players would be able to enjoy the full break once this hand was over.

After five minutes, Kan called the clock on Kane.

The TD counted out in ten second intervals until the last ten seconds when the clock was counted out loud from ten to zero.

Kane sat stoically and was forced to fold when the time ran out.

With that, Kan is up to 680,000.

The nine players, meanwhile, are now on a 10-minute break.
