Gift of Chips for Bryan Huang

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 100 ante

Team PokerStars Pro Bryan Huang is now far and away the chip leader after a big preflop battle saw almost 150 big blinds in the middle.

Generally in this situation it's a predictable pocket aces vs. kings.

Almost, but not quite.

We arrived at the table with Huang having six-bet an extra 66,200.

According to tablemate Ash Warner, the action prior to this point began with Huang opening to 2,700 which was three-bet to 6,600 by Ronald Bean on Huang's direct left. The action flew back around to Huang and he four-bet to around 13,000. Bean then five-bet to around 26,000 and this is when Huang moved all in for the extra 66,200.

Bean called, having a little more behind, and watched as Huang tabled {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}.

Then Bean turned over his {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}.

Huang got out of his chair and with a wry smile as if expecting the worst watched as the dealer spread out a {k-Spades}{5-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{6-Clubs} board.

All was safe and the gigantic pot went to Huang.

Legg Up On The Competition

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 100 ante

We arrived to find Anthony Legg and one opponent on the river of a {8-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{j-Spades} board. There was around 30,000 already in the middle when the player moved all in. Legg instantly called off his stack of 22,400 and tabled {q-Clubs}{10-Spades} for queen-high straight - enough to send his opponent's cards into the muck.

Mr. Bean's Story Ends

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Ronald Bean's tumultuous ride has come to an end... with Bryan Huang once again playing a starring role in his journey.

We missed the action, but apparently Bean's demise came when Ash Warner opened it up with a raise, which Huang three-bet to 6,800 from the button. Bean then three-bet all in for 21,000 from the small blind and Warner folded. Huang, meanwhile, called and for the second time against Bean, turned over {a-}{a-}!

This time Bean had {a-}{5-} and with no miracle on the board, he was eliminated.

Huang's stack is nearing 200,000.

Lim Building

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Reigning ANZ Player of the Year David Lim is up over 75,000 in chips after starting the day with just over 40,000.

We recently watched Lim rake in a pot against Tamara Volkoff on a {4-Hearts}{3-Spades}{7-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} board. Volkoff was on the button, while Lim was in the small blind. We arrived on the turn with both players checking. On the river, Lim check-called a bet of 5,000 and scooped the pot when his {j-Spades}{7-Spades} trumped Volkoff's {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}.

Six-Figure Chew

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Stevan Chew is now up over six figures after winning a handy pot off Andrew Molodstov.

We picked up the action from the {7-Spades}{3-Clubs}{3-Hearts} flop with a sizable pot already in the middle.

Molodstov, in the hijack, checked to Chew who bet 11,500. Eventually Molodstov called.

On the {4-Hearts} turn, it was once again checked to Chew and this time he bet a large 25,600.

Molodstov tanked for a long time, getting the chips ready in his hand before ultimately folding.

Lim Nearing Six-Figure Stack

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

David Lim has continued chipping up after a hand he just played against Didier Guerin.

It began with Guerin raising under the gun to 3,000 and Lim calling from middle position before the rest of the table folded around.

The flop landed {2-Spades}{4-Spades}{8-Diamonds} and Guerin continued for another 3,000.

Lim made the call and the dealer turned the {10-Diamonds}. Didier stacked up a bet of 8,500 and slid it into the middle before Lim called again.

The river fell the {9-Hearts} and Guerin quickly checked. After a moment of thought Lim lead for 16,800. Guerin went into the tank, scrunching up his face and studying his opponent before eventually opting to muck.

With that hand Lim climbs to around 99,000 in chips.
